I liked that my flight was on time both ways. I really liked the food going over to Heathrow on British Air. We were given two choices - liked that there was a simple chicken dish option. I didn't like the food going back on American - we were only given the one option of a curry dish and I don't like curry.
Again- we should have been told re extra charges

Everything about this flight was excellent. Great service, friendly staff, smooth flight, great entertainment. I was traveling with children and the staff went above and beyond to make them comfortable during this flight. Probably the best service I have ever had on a flight.
The service was great and the whole process was smooth. My personal tv was not working so was bummed not to have the built in entertainment.
Seat allocation or lack of availability is a mystery. My wife and I had to sit apart from each other, and teenage children elsewhere but I checked in at the first possible opportunity (24 hours to flight) and at this stage 95% of all seats were gone. How is this possible? What can I do differently next to to be able to sit together with my ffamily on a long haul night flight?

For some reason l was unable to obtain my boarding pass online for both flights. I almost missed my last flight because it took so long to get one at the airport. Also my arm rest wasn’t moving and the movie on an 8 hr flight wasn’t working.
I love love this airline. The crew was awesome; so friendly, professional, and playful. The seats were comfy & very clean. Great entertainment selection and the Complimentary wine was most appreciated! 3 thumbs up 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Very small plane, not much legroom. No organisation to boarding and no in-flight snacks provided as standard apart from water/juice.

Nadelen: "My luggage didn't arrive to Helsinki and has been two days since I have inform and they said it was going to come the next flight but didn't sent it. I have been two days with the same cloths and no cleaning products, so disappointing they don't seem to care of all the inconvenience I have been experiencing."

Nadelen: "Legroom and seating in general is cramped. But unfortunately that is the case in today's travel experience with US carriers."
Voordelen: "Because of the delay taking off and refueling, they provisioned for an extra meal service. Choices were limited, but the food was decent. Crew was generally cordial and efficient. Even though there were only 13 empty seats, they made an effort to find us a place with an empty seat between us."
Nadelen: "We were stopped and grilled by AA personnel as if we were potential terrorists, even though we had TSA Pre-check clearly listed on our boarding cards. flight was 1 hr delayed boarding. Since the plane was a 747 and there were stronger than average headwinds, we had to stop in Bangot to refuel. Net result: 2 3/4 hr late arrival."

Voordelen: "The flight to and from Los Angeles was operated by British Airways and was on one of their Airbus fleet. Boarding was completed efficiently and with ease. I sat on the upper deck and was very comfortable in comparison to other major airlines previously used for this particular flight. The plane was very clean and the crew were outstanding. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for crew, and they were ready with beverages, including tea and coffee, and snacks throughout the flight. In flight entertainment was good. All in all very pleasant flight to and from the U K."

Voordelen: "It was an Iberia flight, sold by Finnair. Pretty full but I had two seats by window to myself. I really liked the personal entertainment system at each seat, with lots of choices for viewing and listening, plus usb port for charming my phone. Food was not bad for economy class airplane food. Crew was efficient."

Nadelen: "We were unable to find a row of seats to more comfortably facilitate traveling with a baby and a toddler as seats that should have had a cot or extra seating didn't have the cot and were sold out for an additional fee before we had the chance to. Discussing this with the staff at check0in and at the gate, made no difference as they had no knowledge of what was available on that particular flight. Every time I fly with American I'm reminded of why I don't like the airline and I will do my best to avoid them moving forward regardless of competitive ticket pricing."

Nadelen: "Planes are old, small tv screens in aisles, older seats and headrests. I had requested Gluten Free meals and on the way to Amsterdam they did okay (besides the snacks). On the way back they didn't even offer me the second meal GF, I had to ask another flight attendant who went looking for it and found one.. so it was there, they just hadn't bothered to look for it. I also never understand why you wouldn't start boarding with the last rows? Is that just me? The aisles are always so crowded when the last rows walk in and there's always a line."
Voordelen: "I booked the seats with extra room - really glad I did. The food wasn't bad, the entertainment system worked. I definitely prefer the Virgin Atlantic entertainment system, but I fly AA fairly often and will continue to."
Nadelen: "The airport check-in was absolutely terrible. We were in line so long that an employee came up to us and said "I can't believe you're still here." Neither could I. We get to the airport at least three hours early because of stuff like this, but the incredibly slow line and unorganized way of handling it ate any of the time I'd looked so forward spending at Heathrow (I love hitting Boots etc)."

Voordelen: "You’re going for no frills. Competitive pricing maybe but consider baggage situation first. We went transatlantic and paid for a bag using economy light fare to make it work. Only needed one checked bag. Kids even in economy light get a free meal - though none are heated. Cabin is ok. Flight attendants were nice. even asked another passenger to move so I could have a seat for my lo infant even though I hadn’t paid for a seat for him. There was space of the flight so I didn’t feel badly about this. WiFi was affordae and generally reliable. I had a turkey pretzel bread wedge that was tasty."
Nadelen: "Witnessed many customers checking in who thought a bag was included. Entertainment is ok but screens have limited kid activities. Each leg of my flight took off 15-20 min late easily. Overall this wasn’t bad as it was made up in-air. Except one layover was only an hour, And cut it a bit close clearing passport control and traveling with two kids. No time to even see Kaflavik or pick up food or drinks. We ran to the final boarding call after clearing passport control. Also not good was that they don’t offer gate check on strollers. On a departure, you can use your stroller all the way up to the gate, but you get it back with any checked baggage at baggage claim, so you won’t have a stroller for layovers in Keflavík or clearing customs on either end. That was a pain. Strollers came up after all baggage. Not good for traveling families. Kids should be first especially after a 6 hour flight which was probably a second leg."

Nadelen: "There was no indication when I made the reservation that there were 2 types of economy fare. I had to pay 86 Euro extra per checked in case."

I stood politely waiting to ask a question about travel with my support animal and was virtually ignored until the intoxicated man behind me barged up and demanded to be taken care of. This was not the only time this happened. Similar experience on our trip into AMS on Jan 28th. Hoped my first experience was a "one-off", evidently not. ALSO, employees do not belong on their personal phones and watching videos etc instead of helping each other out and making sure paying customers are supported. There were several of them on personal calls and one was even watching dance videos! Also, the room for our dog had to be taken in order to relieve herself was absolutely DISGUSTING!! There was feces and urine EVERYWHERE and I was disgusted to even have to put her on the floor! The room was also bad on the way to AMS on Jan 28th but nowhere near as bad as on the return Feb 28th! The security escort was embarrassed and said that she had requested someone responsible for the clean up come to fix the problem earlier in the day but that they obviously hadn't come. MY FAMILY WILL NEVER FLY ICELANDAIR AGAIN!"

Nadelen: "I was surprised by being charged almost $100 to check in my luggage, and over $100 on my return leg. (Yes! I could have looked at their baggage policy, but there was no glaring notification alerting me to this fact when I purchased the ticket, nor when I was checking in online) Then, I was further surprised that you had to pay for food on board. This was a first. I mean, on an international long distance flight? Everything became mediocre after these, and I mentally swore off flying this airline ever again."

No idea what the problem was, except that an announcement was made about 45 minutes after debarking that the delay was "weather-related". Huh?? They can't remove luggage from a plane in the rain? I would gladly have gone on the tarmack in my raingear to retrieve my bag rather than wait over an hour. We had a family member waiting for us for 2 hours!"

Nadelen: "Airline should provide a free snack such as a small sandwich, a small salad or a pastry. It is not right that during a long flight no free refreshments are offered."
Voordelen: "Service on the plane was excellent. AMS is a very nice airport as well."

Nadelen: "Arrived at airport and could not drop off checked bag, had to wait 1.20 hours for staff to take care of this. Very confusing at AMS where I should go, please provide better signage for Iceland Air where check-in resides. Flight was delayed in taking off with no communication for reason why, and my connection was close enough to next flight that I nearly missed the flight. No complimentary snacks offered."
Nadelen: "My laggade not arrived - both of our bags , my and my husband . There are all of hot closes there . It not possible to begin a trip in Iceland without special equipment !!!"

Nadelen: "The incoming aircraft was over an hour late arriving, but there was no prior message that the outbound flight would be delayed. The boarding area was too small to accommodate all the waiting passengers comfortably. Most airlines flying from Schiphol arrange for more gate space."
Nadelen: "Unfortunately we were herded into a tiny waiting area, pushed up against one another waiting for a bus to take us to the plane. The wait was unnecessarily long and the room very hot. Then again we were held in a crampt and very warm bus to the aircraft. Passengers inside the bus, pushed open some of the windows to give us a little fresh cool air. Finally we exited into the rain and wind to very slowly board the aircraft in no order, which led to people standing out on a slick staircase getting rather wet prior to entering. One of the worst boarding plans I've experienced."
Nadelen: "On a trans-atlantic flight, a flight that is more than 4 hours, food should not cost, nor should the cost of food be exorbitantly expensive."
Voordelen: "Long flight but my husband and I had three seats to ourselves (both ways) and that really helps."
Nadelen: "Boarding was suppose to start at 4:10 but didn't happen until 4:40. Our flight was suppose to leave at 5. We ended up arriving a half hour late to Newerk. When you're on Icelandic time in the states, and you have to wait in line at customs, a half hour delay makes a difference."

I arrived 3 hours before departure and had to stand in lines that were not clearly defined for 2 and a half hours. Everybody complained. Even the luggage band when I checked my bag was broken. Nobody came to assist the passengers"
Voordelen: "The airplane was new and had a reasonable collection of movies in the personal entertainment system"
Nadelen: "Where to start... Keflavik is the worst layover airport I can think off. No space, no amenities, no bathrooms and the layout fircing you to go through a way overcrowded store and a single food option for all converging flights in a 2 hr timeframe. (Unless you hangout before passport check) Than Iceland air.. Even worse. No food, not even a snack for free. The food they do sell is last weeks pre packed leftover sandwitches from the airport shop. They stop by 2x during a 8 hr flight and have to see if they can get you a coffee. For kids they bring a free meal but this is a macaroni salad not catered for kids"
Nadelen: "The gate situation at the Iceland airport is terrible. They have no place for people to sit. We flew through Iceland from Amsterdam continuing on to Portland. When we went to our out bound flight there was no place to sit. Hundreds of people were sitting on the floor. Eventually it was standing room only for over an hour. Immediately adjacent to our gate were 4 other gates. All flight departures from these gates were scheduled with 20 minutes of each other! That's nearly 1,000 passengers gathering in a narrow concourse with no separate gate seating. Very miserable conditions. Need I say more."
Nadelen: "The baggage took over an hour to come out. It was 11:30pm and we needed to pick up our rental car and still drive to our apartment in Reykjavik. We arrived at the apartment at 2:30am and had to leave by 9:00am to go to the Blue Lagoon. Wishing the baggage had come out much faster."
Voordelen: "Planes to US waited for late arrivals from Europe/Paris Bagage was not lost."
Nadelen: "No announcement that planes to US were delayed to wait for the late arrival from Paris"
Voordelen: "We did not know our gate was changed and went to the wrong gate. Our flight from Amsterdam was delayed and although we went straight to our next flight we almost missed it and two of our three bags did not arrive at Seattle when we did."
Nadelen: "I liked the northern lights effect of the flight from Seattle to Keflivick."
Nadelen: "I was told my flight was delayed, but they couldn't tell me why. The weather was beautiful and I didn't understand why there was a 2+ hour wait. By the time we landed in Iceland, I ran to make my connecting flight but was told the door just closed. So I had to 8 hours before the next flight out. After talking to representatives, I was told there would be a claims process for my troubles. It's been over a week, I still haven't heard back from them."
Voordelen: "The entertainment system worked well."
Nadelen: "My flight leaving Amsterdam was delayed by two hours. Luckily, in an odd way, my connecting flight to NYC was also delayed by 1 and a half hours. I did not realize that we had to PAY for our food, so I ended up being hungry and not eating anything for the entire journey. We stayed on the Tarmac at jfk for close to an hour waiting for our gate to be open. And finally, all three of my bags did not make it New York. In fact, I'm still waiting for them. Very disappointing."

Rude air hostesses Waited on ground 2 HOURS, inaccurate info, no service, nada"

Nadelen: "I had a flight from London to SFO with a connection in Dublin. However, since I was traveling to the US I had to go through customs in Dublin. There was an hr an a half layover and yet I was running to the gate to make my connection. This seemed to be due to an inefficient system."
Voordelen: "The whole crew was amazing! Meals were very tasty. The pillow and blanket was a nice touch. We really enjoyed the fact we all had entertainment screens."
Nadelen: "The selection of movies was not very grand."
Voordelen: "The service from the flight crew was excellent. On board meals were good, too. Although my luggage never made it on my flight to Chicago due to a delay arriving in Dublin, Aer Lingus provided me with tracking information, and I received my suitcase at my home within 48 hours."

Nadelen: "My flight was cancelled approximately 36 hours before departure. Neither Aer Lingus not the booking agency Justfly.com informed me. I discovered this as I was about to leave for airport. Neither could help me to book a new flight. Justfly.com didn't see that the flight was cancelled because Aer Lingus did not inform them. I had to go to the airport and spend 8 hours in line at the ticket desk to get a new flight the next day, in addition to 2 hours spent on the phone. Had these companies done their jobs properly, I could have rescheduled my flight days earlier on the phone and not wasted an entire day of my vacation. When I asked Justfly.com for any form of compensation they refused. Will NEVER fly on this airline or book travel thru Justfly.com again."

It was at least 1/2 before anyone arrived for work. The gate on the boarding pass printed that morning, was the furthest gate and a very long walk. When we arrived there we were told it was changed. We heard a lot of gate changes over the loud speaker, but no announcement from aer lingud. British airways was at"
Voordelen: "The crew was cheerful and the food was decent. It's a nice option for going from Europe to the US. Going through US customs in Dublin is much more convenient than waiting in line for 2+ hours in America after a 10+ hour flight."
Nadelen: "Boarding seemed a bit chaotic. Everyone had already lined up before they even started boarding business class. The seats and the on-demand IFE are a bit dated."
Voordelen: "Average economy for a 90 minute flight. Crew were cheerful."

Voordelen: "The only thing I can say that I liked about this flight was that we arrived a little early."
Nadelen: "Note: This review is for Aer Lingus a partner of British Airways. 1) Service - one of our fight attendants was incredibly rude. She clearly resents her job. 2) The plane itself was very old and not well maintained. The audio jack for the in-flight entertainment was broken and I could not watch anything. My wife complained about the touch screens being faulty and her audio system was bad. Also, the carpet and seat fabric was torn. 3) The food was disgusting. I mean, really bad. 4) There was a charge for alcohol whereas British Airways was complimentary. 5) Overall, I will never fly Aer Lingus again. It was the worst flying experience in memory."

Voordelen: "The staff was generally pleasant (except for one attend on the SFO-Dublin flight. The lunch and dinner were very good (desserts as well were better than on other airlines I have flown). There was a good selection of movies."
Nadelen: "The seats on the trip Dublin to SFO were a bit cramped. I wasn’t able to lean my seat back as the passenger behind me asked me not to because his knees were already touching the back of my seat. The web check in was prone to error. For both legs I had to start the web Checkin at least twice. I also got an error page when I tried to print my boarding pass. I do’s not find a way to add my boarding pass to my iphone’s wallet."
Nadelen: "No complimentary refreshments offered, not even water."
Voordelen: "Not much. I'm always grateful for safe travels."
Nadelen: "Their cc machines couldn't process America credit and debit cards (I was one of 5 ppl in my row that had the same problem). When I paid w euros they didn't have change, said they would bring if before I landed and never did. This happened both to and from EU. Additionally the internet didn't work AT ALL and none of the attendants had a Clyde as to how to set it up. Finally, the attitude at large was dismissive, the idea of customer service is clearly not one Aer Lingus has embraced."
Nadelen: "We reserved specific seats by calling Aer Lingus directly 4 months prior to our trip. When we arrived in Dublin from Paris, we were told by a very uncaring Aer Lingus representative that those seats were not available and were assigned seats that split up our family. He acted as if he could care less. The food was average. I have never flown internationally and had to pay for alcohol. Seat space is never great in economy, but this was one of the worst. Luggage for our entire family was lost for 36 hours."
Voordelen: "I thought the Airbus 330 was new, well maintained and clean, but the plastic fittings and layout were cheap. The crew was friendly and conversational."
Nadelen: "The food, which was small and unappetising was served 1 hour into an 11 hour flight, and aside from a burrito near the end, nothing was served. They said that the drink cart would not be coming around but the one time 1hour into the flight before dinner, and wouldn't be coming round again, so We'd best order our drinks ahead of time if we wanted any wine etc to have with dinner. Very inconvenient. Leg room ridiculously small ."
Voordelen: "Clean plane, great service, delicious food with a menu card to boot - nice touch - good entertainment: I highly recommend Aer Lingus!"
Nadelen: "The American pre-clearance in Dublin did not mind running me a half an hour late to be the last to board the plane with everyone waiting and ready to go, very stressful!"
Voordelen: "The staff were so, so helpful and made sure we were all as comfortable as possible. I liked all the snacks and drinks and the no charge for checked bags. (A big help after a long trip and short on $!) And the best part? They dealt with U.S customs before we left Dublin so that we didn't have to deal with the long lines in Boston. So grateful!!!"
Nadelen: "My entertainment screen froze every time I tried to play a game, had to reset a few times before I gave up."

Nadelen: "We just returned home to New York from our trip to Amsterdam and Ireland. The trip itself was amazing despite the sub par customer service we received from Aer Lingus that definitely put a damper on our vacation. Our flight on Wed July 19th from NYC to Amsterdam went off without a hitch until we claimed our luggage, my brand new suitcase was covered with stains. Very disappointing but we went on to enjoy our time in Amsterdam. The real problems began when we flew from Amsterdam to Dublin, first we were seated all over the plane and worst of all when we arrived my husband's bag was lost. We went to customer service and completed the paper work. Everything my husband had for the trip was in that bag. Aer Lingus only texted him once and after that he had to call every day to check the status of his bag. Instead of exploring Dublin, we had to spend Sunday shopping to get him clothes for the trip. No word from Aer Lingus. Monday morning July 24 he calls to find the status of his bag. It was found in Amsterdam and was to be flown to Dublin and shipped to our next stop in Kinsale. We arrived Monday evening to find that the bag had not been shipped. Again no word from Aer Lingus. My husband called to find out the status and made arrangements to pick the bag up when we were flying back to NYC. We were happy the bag was found but my husband still was without all of his belongings for our entire trip. On Thursday July 27 we arrived at the airport early to retrieve the bag before we checked in to our flight. We were dismayed to find that there was not a person to talk to but a phone on a column to call to get help retrieving the luggage. There was a queue at the phone with people ahead of us in similar situations. Finally someone came out to escort my husband to get his bag. We were traveling with our son, and again our seats were scattered about the plane. There was no one at checkin to help us, and we didn't get help at the gate. So we had to sit separately for the 6 hour and 30 minute flight. When we claimed our bags, my bag now had tears along with the stains. This was a brand new suitcase and it is now ruined. My husband says he will never fly Aer Lingus again and this was the worst customer service he has had in his life. The customer service was virtually non existent."

Nadelen: "The overall feel is that the staff are very rigid about their rules. They come down the aisle at their appointed times, but never just check up to see how people are doing. The rule about registering for a vegetarian meal 72 hours advance is ridiculous. there should always be meat-free options for people, not just vegetarians. The flight attendant was kind enough to find some fruit salad for me, out of the crew meals, but she shouldn't have to. in general they don't feel very warm or inviting."
Nadelen: "It was delayed, stewardess not friendly"

Nadelen: "Inflight entertainment needs upgrades: better options and better performing screens."
Voordelen: "My flight arrived late from Amsterdam. Once I finally got my boarding pass to San Francisco it stated them he gate closed at 10:45, it was already 11:15. I don't know where to go. There was no one to guide me until I was close to the gate and finally after running the entire distance I was told that the flight would not board till 11:30 and depart st 12:30."
Nadelen: "Awe linfus should provide assistance st gates and throughout the airport. The entire experince could have been made easier with a few words of assistance."
Voordelen: "i liked nothing from the experience on this leg or the journey. I was frustrated and angry."
Nadelen: "The check in procedure in Amsterdam took almost two hours. Then I was late to the gate. There was no assistance getting to the gate for none of the passengers who experienced these delays."
Nadelen: "Baggage lost for mere one-hour flight from Amsterdam to Dublin with extended delay before it was recovered."
Voordelen: "Crew members are very pleasant. Entertainment was good."
Nadelen: "Very small snack provided at second mealtime was inadequate for body clock time wanting dinner."
Voordelen: "The crew was very helpful and after becoming ill after eating the meal, one of the flight attendants was extremely nice and checked in on me from time to time to give me water."
Nadelen: "The special meal I received actually made me quite ill. I highly recommend bringing your own food on board or purchasing the snacks on the flight instead."
Nadelen: "We were not seated together. Unable to choose seats in advance or contact them in advance by phone as closed for holiday."
Voordelen: "I've traveled Aer Lingua several times and been pleased enough to keep choosing AL for my transatlantic trips, however this, the on February 4th 2017 was my last favorite because this time i felt the low-budgetness of travel. there was less leg room, the food was edible, the in-flight A/V was not worth the effort of trying to watch our listen and the crew in my section not very attentive. Having said that, this was a one time mediocre experience that I'm reviewing and hasn't put me off AL at all - it's a good airline and I will continue flying with them."
Nadelen: "I was unable to change the flight in any way shape or form (even though I requested that weeks in advance). The only alternative was paying $+1000 more to change. While I still had tons of questions of my options (and was calm and polite!), they hung up on me. I ended up not even going on my flight and note being able to cancel my flight. Ridiculous, rude, and plain unpleasant. I will never take this airline again."
Nadelen: "There wasn't any good food options and there was a charge for everything. Not good....."
Voordelen: "Crew was good. They were a bit slow with the drinks and food though."
Nadelen: "The seat in front of me was broken so every time the passenger in front of me reclined, she was basically in my lap."
Voordelen: "I loved that there was a personal entertainment system for each passenger to listen to music, watch movies, etc."
Nadelen: "The system itself is extremely hard to navigate. The buttons won't respond to touch well so it takes you 10 minutes to set up a movie. Mine also kept rebooting itself so I couldn't watch a full movie the whole way through."
Voordelen: "I was comfortable as far as temperature and smoothness of flight. I was surprised to have tasty food and two meals!"
Nadelen: "I was really uncomfortable with no leg room. The woman in front of me really hurt my knee when she let her seat back crash into my knee ( I had to lift my leg with my hands and try to fit my foot down in a tiny space in order to cross my legs. Trying to get up to get out of the seat was extremely awkward. The worst experience was online booking. It was difficult to understand and impossible to change my seat. I even called."

Nadelen: "The flight was over booked, at the point of boarding there was no room left on the flight for any carry on’s so they wanted everyone to check bags one particular lady at the gate snatched my husbands boarding pass out of his had and threw it back at him so it landed on the floor. She came back with a checked bag ticket, this bag could have fit under the seat. We would have preferred not to check the bag because it had everything in it we needed access to like medication, ear buds, book, tablet, it also contained my Jewlery and various other things. The lady was extremely rude when I told her I prefer not to check the bag, she said we could take everything out of the bag we needed but that would have been 70 % of what was in the bag, where was I supposed to put all this stuff? My small purse was already full. my husband was upset at her treatment and said something to her and she told us we where welcome to book another flight. I paid a hell of a lot of money on this flight alone plus upgraded our seats with extra legroom. Once on the plane the seating was so crammed, uncomfortable and no legroom. My seat reclined but my husbands did not. I will never fly American Airlines again."

Nadelen: "Recovery of this unplanned event was poor at best. Had to leave for the airport at 6 am only to then wait for 6 hours before we could board. to make matters worse, American then scheduled wake up time for all of the passengers for 4:40 am. I don't take that long to get ready. They did not do a very good job communicating to us on how they were going to recover from this unplanned event."

Nadelen: "I was in the window seat near the back and there was a steel box (guessing for the electricity to the seat-back) that took up a third of the width for my feet."
Voordelen: "The in flight staff was very friendly"
Nadelen: "Our 2nd flight was changed by the airline, causing us to have a 6 hour layover in Philadelphia instead of a 2 hour layover. Then when we ask about changing to a different flight they told us that the original flight we were supposed to be on (that we booked over 8 months ago) was completely full so that’s why we were moved, and there were no other flights available to switch to. So we accepted that. But when we printed our boarding passes, we saw that our seats were now separate from each other, and they were both middle seats! I don’t understand how booking my tickets so far in advance still resulted in these issues. We were finally able to get an aisle and window seat (not near each other) but both flights had poor to little entertainment, which I wouldn’t have expected on such long flights with American Airlines. Really was letdown. :("

Nadelen: "The flight was delayed more times than I can count, we got a different reason each time. Weather I can understand, but telling us we are waiting on a specific crew to arrive and then announcing that crew is not for our flight was just terrible communication. No one seemed apologetic. The only thing they did was bring a snack cart over for us, and that got raided by children so many people didn't get anything. We had arranged transport from Orlando to Tampa for that evening, and our rides had to cancel because instead of 7pm we were now arriving at 130am. Your airline's mistakes put everyone at an inconvenience and we weren't offered assistance to fix it. My husband went to ask for help in arranging new transport home, but he couldn't even get to the front of the line. The customer service was terrible. We really enjoyed our first leg of the flight home with American Airlines, but after the second leg and all of the problems we had... we will not fly with American Airlines in the future."

In flight entertainment was an older movie. No options, and no sound if you forgot your own headphones."

Nadelen: "I had to check a second bag on my return. I entered Mexico with a skateboard carry on. When I went to leave, the airport would let me pass through with it. I was forced to check a second bag and it really bothered me."

Also, only peanuts and a small cup of soda was offered to us. Other airlines give cookies and biscotti! The seats don't recline and they need more legroom. The majority of the airline crew largely ignored us and showed mediocre customer service."

Nadelen: "There was no tvs- extremely old plane. Which makes for a very long 9hr flight. No wifi and no outlets to charge devices. Had to go to back of plane and ask for water and come- staff didn't come round regularly enough offering beverages."

Nadelen: "The lack of organization at he moment of boarding generates problems with the passengers .. A lady started to get angry when group 3 was boarding and she was group 2. She was waiting were group 3 was in line .. It would be better to have it like united that they have lines for all groups."

Nadelen: "1980's 757. Literally, I flew on planes like this in the 80's. American, please get with it. This was a horrendous flight. No in flight entertainment at all in 2016 on a 9+ hr. flight is unacceptable. Couple that with 1.25 hour delay AFTER the plane boarded. You should not be flying narrow body jets on flights this long. Much less ones with old, uncomfortable seats and zero entertainment options. I don't mean to sound entitled but this experience was night and day in every capacity (comfort, food, service, entertainment) from my flight to Europe on BA. Sad. Lastly, I sat next to a off duty American flight attendant who was quite rude."

Voordelen: "The people on the plane were super nice and the flight was nice as well. the price was cheaper than many others."
Nadelen: "I am used to traveling continents with other companies. There has always been 2 check in bags allowed with no extra charge as long as you are under 23kg on each. I get to the airport with my 2 bags ready, TAP tells me on large holidays, they only allow 1 bag to be checked to my specific African destination until January 11. And that one bag will cost me $120. They will not let me have the second one. Who does that? How much sense is this supposed to have. I checked with others and they do not do that. That rule rule is unfair and racist. Now that I am back, I have a bag missing. Wow!"
Voordelen: "There was a major problem with my booking and I went through almost 2 hours or stress thinking I would not be let on the flight. This has never happened with Kayak. But it was really bad. TAP insisted they could not book me on as Azores Airlines from Pinta Delgado to Toronto was not booked for me. I had to call bothe airlines. With no help from the desk. I finally got both to confirm and at the last minute was allowed on the flight. I chose this route to have a nice couple of days in Portugal and I will have. But the flight start was really upsetting."
Nadelen: "I like Kayak. But am very concerned about booking through in the future with this treatment."
Nadelen: "I had to pay to check the first piece of luggage 85€ one way. I was not inform of that when I bough the ticket and I could have chosen a different airline If I had considered that expense. The first piece used to be free intercontinental flights but now it varies depending on the company. I find difficult to find this information when buying and it makes a great difference in the final price you pay. I found strange flight attendants having a very loud conversation in a very quiet flight where most of the people were sleeping."

Nadelen: "Though the weather was fine - no excuse - the 7 hours delay! the fact that instead of landing in Newark (my original reservation), we landed in JFK! VERY INCONVENIENT AND AN EXTRA EXPENSE! The fact that in Lisbon airport I had to wait more than one hour to reach the help desk and then plead to receive a voucher for refreshment (left Madeira on an early flight, no breakfast on that flight, the flight to NY delayed till 5 PM!). I chose TAP because it was the most direct way to reach Madeira - but the delays on both flights were more than unfortunate - it was simply poor service."

Nadelen: "1) I tried several times while traveling but was unable to figure out how to choose a vegetarian option for the flight. When I called customer service, after a long hold time, the woman I finally spoke to told me it was too late to order vegetarian and refused to help me. I have never flown another airline (Air India, Turkish Air, United, American, China Southern, etc., etc.) that did not make this easy to choose during booking or check-in and that did not already have a standard ovo-lacto vegetarian option on the regular menu. Vegetarians practice for all sorts of reasons, including religion and health needs. It's unacceptable to make it so difficult to meet your meal needs while trapped on a plane for nine hours. 2) The check-in agent did not know the rule about all remaining seats being opened for passenger choice three hours before booking and insisted we had to pay to get aisle seats despite one of us having a health problem necessitating her standing up and walking every 45 minutes. Then another agent told us we couldn't choose seats for free for our Porto to Newark flight when we check in for our Madrid-Porto flight because it wasn't technically three hours before the Porto-Newark departure. But how were we supposed to choose seats for the Porto-Newark flight three hours in advance if we are in an airplane flying to Porto at that time? This makes no sense. Seats should be opened for every leg of a same-day journey at the same time. The agents were unhelpful and unsympathetic. 3) This was an old plane without options to choose a film or show to watch. Instead, passengers could flip through a few channels and hope to find something of interest that was already playing -- there was no way to begin a film or show from the beginning if you landed on it in the middle of its running time. I cannot recommend TAP Portugal to any of my friends, family, or colleagues after this experience."
Nadelen: "I have traveled to and from Portugal in TAP for many years and never ever did I have to pay for a checked bag till this year. It is totally a robbery to be charging people for 1 checked bag of only 50lbs. not only is it ridiculous but robbery. You charge a lot of money for the flights as it is and to go and charge people to check a bag on an international flight is insane. It is to bad I have to fly back with you because I will not be flying with you ever again after this I will take my money elsewhere. Also you need to let people know that they are being charged for luggage when the are booking their flight because when I booked my flight nowhere did it say I had to pay for my luggage. It already was rediculous that we are only aloud 1 50lb bag checked and now you want people to pay for it too? Pretty soon you minus well have people just get on a plane naked!!"

Some passengers got refills before we got one. Poor execution. we had to check two bags on connecting flight (which we didn't have to do before) and it cost us time and money. Also they lost the two bags - got several days after we got back from trip huge line at immigration - we waited almost two hours will not travel on TAP again"
Voordelen: "Flight attendants were reponsive. Plane was comfortable enough. Good entertainment options."
Nadelen: "Plane was a little warm. Would have liked more information in English."
Nadelen: "Wouldn't let people approach the desk to ask questions before boarding. Crew very un pleasant and forceful throughout the trip. Would not look forward to flying with TAP again."
Voordelen: "Not much"
Nadelen: "Long flight uncomfortable seats"
Voordelen: "Time in the air was fine, efficient once we arrived in Newark and bags arrived fairly quickly. Check-in counter in Lisbon were a little tricky to find (around the corner with no signs posted...) but it was efficient."
Nadelen: "The boarding process was ridiculous. Went through security and then a second security screening at the gate when everything was gone through for a lot more than random folks. Then getting on a bus to board the flight instead of a jetway? I thought TAP was Portugal's national airline and had priority space at Lisbon..apparently not. No soap in the bathrooms on the plane! Ran out of diet soda (and we weren't at the back of the plane). On the way over, the flight attendants gave us conflicting instructions about our toddle sons's ability to sleep on the floor or on our laps. The entertainment system didn't work."
Nadelen: "1. Food. I think that sandwich and juice are not enough for 3 hours flight that costs 130 euros. 2. Departure time. The flight was delayed for more than 1 hours. When we arrived at Schiphol it was night already and trains to towns around were super rare. So we came in home at 3 a.m. instead of the planned 1 a.m."
Voordelen: "The food in Economy was way better than usual U.S. airline food. Ground staff in Newark were helpful in retrieving a book I left on the plane. Captain had the seat belt sign off early and turned it back on late in descent which allowed people to visit the restrooms. Video entertainment was good."
Nadelen: "Captain should have made more P.A. announcements during the coast in over Cape Cod to point out areas of interest"
Voordelen: "Center aisle seat was comfortable and pnethy of room for my carryon overhead and underseat."
Nadelen: "I would like to see all TAP planes come with a standard entertainment option on the headrest in front of you with the advanced menu option of movies, games, radio, etc. and ensure all headphone jacks are operational. (Thisnflight the screen was messed up...not something you want to look at for 8 hours. ) I couldn't eat half the food because the salad wasn't anything but cabbage and a tomato and the corn and meat dish was cold and weird. I don't know what the dessert was but I got it down. I think the sandwich I got before landing was pesto and mayonnaise but I'm not sure. I didn't get much of it down before gagging. I wish when booking a flight you were given the menu or you could choose early in the flight and then be served. I bet it would cut down on wasted food and money."
Voordelen: "The seats were comfortable and already stocked with a pillow and blanket for all. we each had a personal screen stocked with movies, music, games and flight info. at no additional cost and that was great for passing the time during a long flight from Lisbon to NY. The crew was the best part, so pleasant and helpful and professional. We were instructed to close the shades and were allowed to sleep and woken up for the custom form and the great meal which had the option of soda or wine, etc. at no additional cost. The quality of the food was impressive and the salad even came with a packet of real Portuguese olive oil and vinegar. When appropriate we all had to open the shades and drinks were served again and later a small snack of a sandwich and a juice were given all in perfect timing."
Nadelen: "Filthy dirty airport, club and plane. No power in the seats to boot. Clown show. Never again see above."
Nadelen: "I found it very frustrating that we were told at the ticket counter the boarding would begin at 11:15am for a 12:45pm flight time. I arrived at the airport over two hrs in advance and then had to run a significant distance through the airport and sweat and be unnecessarily anxious waiting on the customs line only to arrive at the gate at 11:20am, to have my bags checked for a second time and then be unable to get any food or coffee before a flight that did not begin boarding for another 40 minutes. I did and still do not see the need for that additional luggage/security check and then being held at the gate for almost an extra hour for seemingly no reason at all."
Voordelen: "The seats were pretty comfortable and the crew was excellent."
Nadelen: "There was no entertainment and the food wasn't good."
Nadelen: "The flight was 45 min late and nobody seemed to bother about it"
Voordelen: "Great flight! Unexpectedly good amount of food and good entertainment. On time. Seats were comfortable w good room."
Nadelen: "Boarding was pretty disorganized and crowded and seemed like it took even longer than it normally takes. we were lined up for a while before boarding initiated."
Voordelen: "lots of food and drink"

Nadelen: "No air from above. Just an all around bad flight with so many problems."
Voordelen: "Quick boarding. Crew is great."
Nadelen: "Schiphol delays everyone's life."
Voordelen: "Efficient boarding. Very friendly crew. Coach seating comfortable and roomy."
Nadelen: "It wasn't at all the airline's fault, but this flight saw random searches at the gate of carry-on luggage + patdowns of selected passengers. I understand fully the imperatives for security, However it would be nice if there were some way to signal passengers that they might want to get to the gate early...... Fortunately I'd experienced it before (same flight out of Lisbon) and knew there was a good chance of a repeat...."
Voordelen: "Generally good and professional."
Nadelen: "One washroom was permanent;y dirty because the FLUSH mechanism wasn't performing well. Another washroom was permanently locked - causing higher traffic in the remaining washrooms."
Nadelen: "this was a very last minute flight to return home. It was cancelled within hours. I am very disappointed."
Nadelen: "Seats were uncomfortable"
