Also, I was asked to check in my bag because "the aircraft was full" however when I got on the plane I noticed it was half-empty and there would have been ample overhead room."

Nadelen: "Their online checkin systems could operate a bit more smoothly. At one point, I had to go in in person, because the online checkin site had an already past flight from their codeshare partner SAS showing up as the next flight, and I couldn't perform online checkin as a result."

On Schipol airport there is screens everywhere and they do not bother to update the status of boarding. Instead, they behave like everything is normal you are the person making the problem."

Nadelen: "I know seats in the 777-300 recline but do not disrupt the next row's space. That was not the case on the Airbus A330-300. It would be nice if the same seats were on the Airbus aircraft I flew from Istanbul to Bangkok."

Nadelen: "We booked our plane reservations through Kayak . My sister booked my reservation along with hers at the same time. Kayak put us on different planes at different times on our return flight back to the USA. I had assumed we were flying together ( sisters with the same last names), so I showed up at the airport to find out that I had missed my first flight. I already had a boarding pass for the next flight, but Kayak had canceled me and booked someone else in my seat. No more seats in economy and I had to pay $1750. Euros for another ticket. Why would 2 passengers flying together and booking together be put on different planes and different times. We will NEVER use Kayak again!7"

Nadelen: "Frankfurt airport is dreadful. I'm elderly and being forced to climb up and down stairs to the Tarmac with luggage and then crammed into a bus to the terminal was terrible. I would avoid Frankfurt at all costs. Lufthansa needs to take some initiative with this."

Nadelen: "1 person working the service desk. I had a question about our connecting flight from Frankfurt and I was told to call the 1-800 number. When I went to check my bag the woman was very rude and asked me "why do I think I can check two bags?" and questioned my Star Alliance premium silver status, demanding I show her my card (I have no card). My friend was flying with me and she was told that her carry on, mind you had flown to and within europe, was too big for the overhead storage and she had to pay 90 euros to check it and the woman held her boarding pass and wouldn't give it to her. we waited in line at the service desk for over 40 minutes so that she could pay. We arrived to the airport 2.5 hours early to eat and shop for souvenirs. We barely made it in time to get to our gate because of the inefficiencies of Lufthansa. 1 person working a service desk for a large airport is unacceptable, especially when they are 8-10 waiting to scan your baggage and not helping out at all. I had a wonderful flight to Europe on Lufthansa and was absolutely appalled at the attitudes of the airport staff and their lack of customer service."

The entire flight was locked in a room and not allowed to leave with very little explanation as to why. After 5 hours they let us board another plane. There was water and candy supplied as food. It was a joke for anyone with kids or the elderly. Nevermind anyone with health concerns. BAD way to manage a crisis in my opinion. We were treated like cattle. And these were NOT cheap tickets."

Nadelen: "No reading lights. No attendant call button I could find. Not much air volume. That pesky lack of leg room. Short seat belts."

In the counters at the airport, we asked if it was possible a solution as I suffer with big anxiety and needed to be together my partner during the flight, and they answered us in an extremely rude way. Luckily we could change it with other passangers inside the plane by ourselves. Not a fault of Lufthansa but something that made the flight HORRIBLE was an extremelly smelly and very heavy guy seated next to me that used half of my seat and made me be really uncomfortable."

Had to pay for the luggage at the airport (luggage was not included in my ticket). Flight to my final destination was cancelled (first it was delayed, but I did not know that untill I got to the gate) I was diverted to other country (by other company), had to pay for hotel and taxi, missed almost two days of my vacation. On my flight back home, they have lost my luggage... hope they will find it. Now I am trying to get refund for cancelled flight, hotel, taxi, food... I will never fly with this company by my own choice any more!!!"

Nadelen: "First there were problems with the plane... then it got delayed... I missed my connecting flight... now it’s 2 am I have a wedding to get to in 4 hrs and I finally just arrived ."

Voordelen: "I liked the crew on the flight."
Nadelen: "I was frustrated with the staff at the desk in the airport, as we boarded 20miutes late and they did not feel it necessary to give any comment on the situation. Everyone was puzzled as to why we were not boarding, or if there was a problem. Even the screens did not show any change."

Voordelen: "Crew only offered water once during the whole night flight. The entertainment programs regarding games was very restricted, both in terms of game offers as well as operation / handling"

Nadelen: "Chaotic boarding process, no clear communication with passengers, delays in boarding not explained, people sent away or told off, huge attitude and chip on the shoulder. In the U.S., we are customers that paid for a service and are asking for details on that service. In Europe, we are annoyances that depend on staff at the boarding gates to get on the plane, so power tripping and general disdain to customers beings confused are part of the game. I will try never to fly Austrian Airlines again. Absolutely unacceptable behavior toward families, mothers with children, senior citizens. I can almost see the smirks and annoyed and superior attitude of staff at the boarding gate when they had to deal with more passengers asking why boarding hasn't started half an hour ago when we were announced it would. No answers, just show me the passport and boarding pass, ok, please go back, we'll let you know, then ignore questions."

Voordelen: "Everything was at the good level. Professional people to work with."
Nadelen: "Not enough room for overhead bags. Had to put mine in the front of the plane while I sat at the back of the plane. What I really didn't like is that I called Kayak to include my Global Entry number on my boarding pass. They said it would be there and when I printed it, it wasn't. So coming back into the states and thru customs took waaay longer than it should have with those chaotic and ridiculously long lines. I didn't bring my Global Pass card with me and will from now on!"

Voordelen: "The flight in General. Small space with a large audience make things smaller. It's not a flight where one can relax. Grueling."
Nadelen: "Breakfast was just a sandwich and yogurt. Is this standard Austrian Breakfast?"

Nadelen: "Check-in to Canada not possible when passengers have third country passport and Canadian residence card. A combination, although very common, proofed to difficult for AUA personnel. Because of check-in delays lousy seats and miserable overall experience."

Nadelen: "Plane took off and landed late.. Few amenities near the gate. Odd procedure to have everyone go through security into waiting area."

Nadelen: "All flight attendants were great except for one tall with very short blonde hair. What a poor attitude! She really ruined my trip. There was not an exchange with her that was friendly and agreeable. When serving drinks a second time, she asked me what would I like to drink and I answered: What do you have? I had not asked the first time drinks were served since I knew I wanted orange juice. he second time, and not wanted to drink the same, I asked: what do you have? and her answer was: "Same as before". I had to let her know I had not asked before and then she proceeded to tell me the different drinks and finally added: My colleague will take care of you. She did not want to serve me. The first incident went I tried to use the bathroom in the back of the plane, she would tell people: "don"t use that one, I need that bathroom for......." ( not sure for what but her tone was so rude,that people walked to the other bathroom embarrassed). All I can say is that everything else was great, including the friendliness of all other crew, but that one ruined the experience. A third time I got up to walk to the bathroom and the seatbelt sign was on, but so it had been for a long time. She prompted me to go back to my seat. All others seem to do their job without been rude, Not sure why this one couldn't. Job stress? Not the passenger's problem. Besides that and the poor movie choices, everything else was great. I think the flight was delayed but to that point everything was going so smooth, I didn't even notice. I will fly Austrian again, and would love to visit Vienna. Please advise how to add the miles of my trip to my account. I booked in Kayak, left to Ohio from Miami running from hurricane Irma, my return from Ohio to Miami was cancelled and I had to embark on that long plan10 day trip without even returning home to Miami to pack. I totally forgot about putting the miles on my account on either ticket counter."

Nadelen: "Our flight was cancelled .No explanation at all.Hotel was given to us.Thank you for that.We dear only 4 hours.The following day we were there since 5 in the morning and the first word was 10 o clock flight.After to many hours they decided that they can bring us to Mynih and after that flight to Tirana.So I left home Thursday 2 o clock and arrive in Tirana after 2 days. No luggage until yesterday.It never happen before.But in top of everything my plans in Albania were messed up.I have to pospne my return flight 1 week and the charges are unbelievable tooo much 650 dollars.I am not stopping here.Thank you."

Nadelen: "My father and I were seated in biz class but were unable to sleep because of a fan noise directly over our seats in Row 9. We complained to the attendant about it but she was unable to determine the cause. Many hours later, a different crew member identified the noise source and stopped it by simply flipping a switch. This disruptive noise could have easily been avoided but the ignorance of the crew member to whom we complained failed to solve it. By the time the second crew member identified the problem there was not enough time to sleep. This experience was extremely disappointing. We paid extra to fly business class so we could sleep, but this ridiculous crew error fouled our plans. We asked the crew to file a report about it and they did. Look into it. We expect a refund of the extra fare we paid, or else we will never fly Austrian Airlines again. I am an affluent person and I travel internationally 6 times per year. You would be smart not to anger me and lose my business."

Voordelen: "So I had to fly to Munich, and rather than flying direct on terrible United, I took a connecting flight via Vienna. Flight was full yet still departed on time and even arrived early. The seat was comfortable and flight went very smoothly. Food served on board was perfectly edible. Disembarking also went without problems. The flight staff even accommodated the requests of a particularly nasty Russian family seated behind me even though they were total jerks. I was very impressed with their professionalism."
Nadelen: "Nothing. I will make a point of trying to fly via Vienna in the future. Airport is very pleasant and well run."

Voordelen: "They lost my baggage and nobody cares.They charging good money for extra bags but they have only sorry for they mistake. If you plan your important trip to Europe please don't use this company,so you can avoid unpleasant experience."

Voordelen: "Crew and boarding were fine. But nothing to crow about. Just not stressful."
Nadelen: "That was the most uncomfortable flight I have had. It was hard fora short flight, though sitting so close to another passenger, side and front was stressful. Plus, my back was killing me by the end of the short flight- and the long flight from Europe to the US was hard. It was pretty much knocking elbows with the passenger next to me when eating. And mind you- no passenger in my row as any larger than the average person. The seat recline was fine and marginally helpful in relieving back strain- except it did put you in the lap of the passenger behind you. The passenger across the aisle from me shoved the seat in front of her and told the passenger in front of her he could NOT recline. The passenger next to her (I assume her husband) joined in with the shoving. I finally felt a need to intervene and calm them down as it began to escalate- and I did want the flight to continue. Note- while I think the passengers shoving the seat were a bit rude- the crowded nature of the seating with the recline was hard, so I understand. But the person in front had a reason (and a NEED given the discomfort) to lean his seat back. The seats were simply too uncomfortable to keep them upright. I helped them find a recline for both passengers that was reasonably okay. I also tried to get my recline somewhere between comfortable for me (impossible) and reasonable in space for the person behind me, This is an airline problem. And when people wonder about the rise in passenger rage... this cramming in is it. I had to use Austrian because of a last minute need to book a flight- given the inability to relax even a little and the residual back and leg pain ... thus my ability to immediately jump into work during a busy work and travel schedule means that I will definitely not take this airline again. If you are shorter than 5' 5 and weigh about 100 lbs- this might be okay. Otherwise, expect to be a lot of rats shoved in a cage."

Nadelen: "While boarding, the AC was off due to a mechanical issue. The plane was uncomfortably hot, but the pilot and flight attendants were appropriately apologetic. The issue was resolved once we took off."

Мы с двухлетней дочерью стоя ждали в набитом автобусе 20 мин пока не пришел один опаздывающий пассажир. Учитывая, что потом еще пришлось долго ехать через весь аэропорт и водитель неожиданно резко затормозил два раза (всё пассажиры буквально падали при торможении) это стало самой неприятной частью посадки."

Voordelen: "Generous meals with great food choice. Professional crew. Excellent choice of entertainment to fill the sleepless night."
Nadelen: "Unless I was doing something wrong, long-haul economy seats barely recline. Combine that with quite limited legroom, and an overnight flight can turn into a questionable experience."

Voordelen: "Worked like a well-oiled machine. Friendly food service right on time and in good sequence, quality food, free simple self-service "bar" in between at any time. Huge choice of decently new movies and much more on the entertainment system."
Nadelen: "Little thing that I usually don't notice as I normally travel with good noise-reducing headphones. But I forgot to take them with me this time and had to use the earbuds that were handed by the attendant. They really suck. Distorted, narrow band sound makes it almost impossible to discern the soundtrack. Would not forget my good headphones again ."

Voordelen: "Good overall design of interior and lighting system."
Nadelen: "Horrible food. Seats not so comfortable for a 9-hour flight. Tight seat space (same as on low-cost air carriers). It was an overnight flight and the lights were turned off only between 2am and 4am."

Nadelen: "The bus from the gate to the plane did not leave for 25 min after filling up with people, and we were just standing there tired and hot. It is a wonder no one fainted. When we finally made it to the plane, the doors did not open for what felt like an eternity (another 5-7 min), then the drive announced "the plane is not ready and we are going back to the airport." I thought he was joking.. The bus took off again and after 10 min or so ended up pulling up to the plane. Once on board, the pilot was apologetic. But I almost missed my connecting flight."

Nadelen: "My suitcase was left behind in Moscow. Will call to pick it up or deliver it in 1-2 days"

Nadelen: "No choice on meals even though I was premium economy class. Many movies on list were not available to play."

Voordelen: "Flight was delayed 6 hours. Had to wait for 40 minutes ubtil they figured out whether to take a drhnk guy off ths flight or not. Then another 40 mins to do the deicing procedure. Then another 20 minutes to park the plain after landing. Instead of getting home at 13.15 I got out if the plane at 8 PM. Nit the friendliest crew and poor quality food. Overall I am very unhappy with the trip."

Nadelen: "The drinks are not served with the meals but separately, 20 minutes later (??)... Alfonso"

Voordelen: "After flying with budget airlines and horrible airlines in America it was nice to fly with someone who was not trying to rob me with hidden fees and truck bookings. Getting served actual food was an icing on the cake."

Voordelen: "I regularly fly between East Asia and Europe, and have taken Aeroflot almost every time for a year now. Their business class equals that of any other major European carrier. Their food and service is right on par with other European carriers. The planes are new and clean. Staff is efficient, and generally friendly. Aeroflot has a certain negative reputation but I have had very good experiences only."
Nadelen: "The connection is Moscow is a great break up of the long haul flight but I wish you didn't have to pass through the grumpy security people. I once had to change my flight time but I found it was very hard to reach Aeroflot by telephone. Probably best to reserve through an agency who make the changes for you."

Nadelen: "The food was terrible. Also I'm vegetarian and there was never an option to select a special meal. The food was very Russian which is very different than any other food from other countries. The flavor combinations were not appealing. For a 13 hour flight, I was hungry when I got home."
