Voordelen: "Excellent hospitality I asked for a cup of coffee at an odd time, the attendant went out of his way to brew fresh pot and served me, instead of just saying "Sorry sir, we don't have any coffee at this time....""
Voordelen: "How does one describe spending 10+ hours in a metal tube approximately 18 feet wide at 30,000 feet with 300 of your closest friends breathing the same air while having the seat in front of you pushed back so you cannot adequately see the passenger monitor because it's too close to focus on as your knees are under your chin? Flying in "steerage" is not comfortable as humans get larger and airplane seats get squeezed smaller. Please unsqueeze! Cabin crew members were excellent. Other than that, Europe was great!"

Nadelen: "Lines was confusing and the various boarding tiers were not announced properly (Delta One, Sky Priority, and Zone 1 were all together and Zone 2 started boarding way before the priority lane was finished)."
Voordelen: "On the fight back I had enough space; good service; fine food. Great trip. On the way to Amsterdam, I sat next to a very overweight woman and her body hung over my seat. I couldn't move around enough and I ended up with a trigger point problem which immobilized me for 3 days and kept me from sleeping at night. It was very disappointing, since this was a family visit trip."

Only rebooked a flight itinerary for the next day for a 4 hour flight with connections on a 1 hour direct flight. Spent an hour on line to figure out what to do. #neverdelta"

Eventually the agent I was checking in with got busy, I went to a new agent, and with a flick of a keyboard he approved the extra rate based on my status, without even have my to request it."

Flying is not only getting from A to B & Delta has realized it. Looking forward to my next Delta flight!"

Die mevrouw geeft groen Delta label: uw bagage wordt in Atlanta direct doorgezonden naar Kingston. Ik loop dus door in Atlanta. Maar behulpvaardige meneer melde: uw bagage wordt niet doorgezonden. Nooit uit Amsterdam. Wie moet ik dan geloven? Ik toch maar wachten. Blijkt koffer toch van bagage band in Atlanta te komen. Als ik op Delta/KLM info had vertrouwd, was mijn koffer dus pleite geweest, want niet doorgezonden. Geplande tussenstop duur van 2 uur was volgens douane te weinig. Dat klopte. Haalde maar net vlucht Atlanta/Kingston."

Nadelen: "We were arbitrarily re-seated due to equipment changes, back and forth and lost our original seat selection even though we wound up on a plane with the original configuration. An international call wait of 1.5 hours was required to just get us back into the economy plus section that we had originally paid for, Amsterdam check-in was chaotic. In-plane staff was not at all helpful with our desire to get seats on the outside rows of our section."

Nadelen: "The lines at TSA! Alng with hundreds of other people, we missed our connecting flight. I was ashamed to see such an awful mess in the US. It was like entering a third world country run by incompetents."

Nadelen: "Flight attendant missed couple lines of food and after letting them know instead of bringing the cart back they were tossing the entire plate on top of the head of the other passengers. One of them fell of right on one of the passengers. The second thing that irritates me is that one of the flight attendant approached me and was asking if I want chicken beef or pasta and I said chicken and she was like that is not an option in a very rude tone as of I am dumb or deaf of some sort. The other passengers also confirmed that they heard she did say that chicken was an option She could’ve nicely said it or apologized for telling an option that doesn’t exist. Instead she was giving an really bad attitude about it. Very irritated"
Nadelen: "Our flight was cancelled from Nashville to Chicago due to "mechanical issue" so we were unable to get on the flight to Naples. United rebooked us on a flight leaving the next day, and we are currently sitting in Chicago on a 6 hour layover. So no, I am not happy at all with this experience. We are missing a day in Italy and have been charged a day stay in Sorrento which we are unable to use. I have contacted United customer service to see if they can compensate us."

Nadelen: "Checking in on-line was not very "user friendly". Our aircraft had to be replaced causing a 2 hour delay, part of which was an ATC sequencing delay. The 50 minute ATC delay couldn't be controlled by LH, but the original equipment replacement was at the bottom of the overall delay. My "A" window seat in economy had significantly reduce foot space due to a metal box installed in the space. The seat was not particularly well designed, but it's economy so you get what you get. The food was average at best."
Nadelen: "I hated that the plane did not wait for me as I have been on plenty of airlines that have waited 5-10 mins to allow for these sort of things to be rectified. thankfully, Lufthansa and United booked me on a plane that left 5 hours later. they even bought me a 10 euro lunch. :), a pass to the , Luftanhsa lounge would have also been a good showing. I asked about this , but was gently denied. the help desk was gracious, which I appreciated. I had an entire row to myself on the United flight to DC, which softened the blow as well but the flight to Munich from IAD was great (2-28-18)"
Nadelen: "Because my first flight took off late, my luggage didn't make it on this flight. It was not waiting for me at customs and I didn't get it until several days later."

Nadelen: "I would highly recommend both Lufthansa and Austrian adjust their entertainment systems. They seem not to weight much the top films with, say 75% Rotten Tomatoes reviews or higher. Even if there were fewer options for cost reasons, I would think they'd still have more watcher enjoyment. Rather than pad the list with the likes of Boss Baby or Going out in Style or even a mediocre 60% offering in the Fast and Furious franchise. Wonderful crew, though, can't say enough about how polite and attentive they are."

Nadelen: "Boarding was delayed for some reason. It seemed like every baby in the world was on the plane, and they all cried at the same time. Of course, Lufthansa can't help that. The on-flight entertainment system was painfully slow."

Nadelen: "For a transatlantic flight, boarding was one mass stampede, seats were hard as a rock, tight, media "touch" screen had to be punched to work, worst selection of entertainment film & TV show options I can remember for an overseas flight"
Voordelen: "Great service both before boarding the plane and while in flight. The check in line was out of control, but lufthansa staff members ensured that I could still make my flight."
Voordelen: "Cabin crew was friendly helpful and courteous. Service was very good even t hough the flight was completely full."
Nadelen: "The seating on this aircraft is inadequate for a long flights. Tall people really suffer due to seat size and spacing. There was a 6"6" man of median weight for his height who was in the middle seat next to me and he could barely fit into his seat. It was not his fault, rather the unrealistic expectation that airline seats actually fit today's customer. Not only is there not enough leg room, but the width of the seat leaves no room for arms or shoulders. No one should have to ride 7-plus hours touching the shoulders of the passenger next to them! I used to prefer to fly on Lufthansa because their seating was more comfortable than other carriers, but I will try another airline next time."

Nadelen: "Delays in Nice led to a narrow window for connection. More than ten people were left behind - doors practically closed in our faces - and Lufthansa was wholly unhelpful in rescheduling flights. Lines to speak with agents were absurd and then attendants had to take breaks instead of resolve issues. There were no solutions offered, only poor communication and an unwillingness to accommodate a significant number of customers who were inconvenienced. Finally, a "random inspection" led to a handful of passengers being surveyed by the German local police. Interestingly, a number of us were Hispanic Americans. The whole experience was extremely negative."
Nadelen: "It was my bad luck to be near two children whose parents would not keep them quiet and who played games on their screen for nine hours straight, shrieking the entire time. Nor did any of the stewards help or say boo to the parents."
Voordelen: "Movie selection Meal selection was good Crew was courteous, smiling, friendly"

Voordelen: "On-time, excellent and friendly service. I received the special meal I requested (vegetarian Asian) and it was very tasty."
Nadelen: "Not very many English language movies. I wasn't able to get the subtitle in English for the German programs."
Nadelen: "I don't expect good food, but found both served meals to be inedible. Confusing security situation at airport - multiple passport controls and at the final point there was only one check in line for all departing US flights. Since most of these flights left within an hour of each other it was bad news. Once again another chance to stand in line for way too long."
Voordelen: "The food was good, and crew came around several times to offer drinks."

Nadelen: "My seat was 32C , me being disabled (wheelchair). My wife seat was 32 A and was DEFECTIVE. It could not be lowered towards the back, actually it has only the fixed position (all the way up). The lady from the seat before my wife's (31A) was lowering her seat ALL THE WAY. my wife protested, the crew tried unsuccessfully to adjust my wife's seat. Finally, instead of considering my condition and relocating us to some other seats (there were several free on this flight), the crew's lead stewardess (Friederich ?- I could not read the label, she kept it under her jacket) decided to upgrade that couple seats by moving them into the Business Class."
Voordelen: "That was the best airline meal I've ever eaten. It was a lightly curried chicken. Outstanding. Extremely fast boarding. Boarded entire airplane in less than 15 minutes. Nice selection of movies and audio. All of which you could stop, pause, fast forward, and rewind."
Nadelen: "No reading lights. No attendant call button I could find. Not much air volume. That pesky lack of leg room. Short seat belts."
Nadelen: "obvious crew disapproval when walking up and down the aisles to keep lively one year old entertained and from crying!"

Voordelen: "I called Lufthansa customer service on 8/10/16 the day before our flight because I wasn't feeling well and was concerned that I might feel worse the next day and have to cancel our flight. The lovely Customer Service rep was so sweet and concerned about my health, answered all my questions about what to do if I needed to cancel, and told me to call back anytime for more help. Also the flight attendants remembered my food allergies and were very attentive on the flights."

Delays, grumpy service staff

Had a brillant flight from LAX and the lady that check us in at LAX on the vs6848 flight to Manchester was outstanding ! And deserves recognition! She was patient with when we were paniced about us been late and havibg five chikdren under five...she kept us clam... reassured us and booked our bags..ensure my elderly mother had assistance and also waited for my husband who had gone to the toilet and jad got himself lost in the airport. We made it to the plan on time... please fjnd that lady as I really want her to be recognized The plane was of high standard and we got the seats thats worked well with our large family My email is lubanzu.ssbs@yahoo.co.uk if you need more information.

They were so slow that the flight they tried to put everyone left and then they offered ZERO assistance to get another flight and wouldn’t even refund my ticket, just told me after waiting 3 hours to call whoever I booked with for a refund."

Nadelen: "I booked together with my wife, yet we were allocated seats apart and were not able to be reassigned together. The leg room was so tight that I could not pick up things off the floor without putting my head in the next persons lap. Though the cabin crew were smiley and friendly, it was hard to get their attention when needed. The PA system is much louder than the entertainment, so announcements were ear bursting. The dinner selections ran out early, so a good proportion did not get their choice."
Nadelen: "I always think Virgin's meals are the WORST among those of all the airlines I use. PLEASE LET THE VIRGIN COMPANY KNOW THIS FACT. The touch screen of the DVD player did not work well so it was a frustrating experience."

Flew Business Class on Swiss Air once to Geneva (#1) and all the flights I have had with Porter Air are comparable to your airline, but the free cookies and beverages at Porter's terminal in Toronto wonderful."
Nadelen: "A couple things went wrong on this trip, my checked luggage got misplaced for a day, and a nice women in baggage claim told me what was happening and a nice man handled my claim and my bag has now been returned to me. The bigger thing is my flight bas delayed taking off by 3 hours. Let me start that I would rather have a part replaced on the runway then not, safety is paramount. The fact is my flight took off 3 hours late from London (VS11), and got to my destination (BOS) 2.5 hours late. Kudos to the flight crew for getting me to my destination faster by gaining a little time. Plus, since BOSTON was my final destination it was all fine this time. But if I had had to get home to the elder person I take care of or my teenager it would been a problem. Again, I'm annoyed, but I do understand the reasons and they are valid and preferred. I have heard that airlines to keep their flight rating high, wait for planes to leave the gate on time and then do repairs on the tarmac. If this is still a SOP for airlines you should change the way the statistics are collected and figure out a way of not perpetuating this type of disincentive. This is just hypothesis on my part, and my whole trip had little negatives."

And the plane was old generation 747 and the entertainment was same vintage: screen was not very bright and the selection of films was poor. No plug to charge electronics. We were disappointed with KLM when comparing with other airline companies offerings when you book in Premium Economy."

Today it hasn’t been the case .... too poor service for a KLM fight"

Nadelen: "We were told airport is small and catching connecting flight would be no problem. Landed late which left us with 25 minutes to get through passport control and to the next flight. My mother is 67 and physically not able to run or even walk fast. It was worse on the way there. Arrived in Iceland and our Helsinki flight was canceled. We were rebooked to an earlier flight. We had a hard time catching it. Barely made it! We were not told of any such change. Sure, once I made it to my destination, I saw that I received an email while in the Air! I didn't have internet access en route! I won't book with that airline again. We almost didn't make our connection and weren't given any explanation. They should not assume that everyone has Wifi access once they leave their home country. I had to run ahead to let them know that we were indeed present and wanted to get on that flight. My mother struggled to follow me. I thought that it would be a good route to go, given that we make the trip to Finland to see our family. But it turned out not to be the case. Very disappointed."
Nadelen: "Didn't even know there was a ticket of this type. It was a good price, but when I went to check in on the return flight I was charged ~ $95 for a luggage item. Not a bad trick. On the other hand, not very nice either. They also didn't allow to take the guitar on-board due to a short & full flight saying the above part was too small. When I got on however, there was clearly room there. It could have been human error, but still disappointing nonetheless. They said there would be no track so it should safe, which it was, but it was left out in the rain for a minute or two so the soft case was somewhat wet. I don't think any permanent damage occurred."

This was a first. I mean, on an international long distance flight? Everything became mediocre after these, and I mentally swore off flying this airline ever again."

Voordelen: "Short transit. Although the first leg of my flight was delayed by more than 1h 30 minutes, they arranged for quick transfers at Reykjavik airport and we arrived almost on time at final destination."
Nadelen: "No free food is served on board so make sure to bring your own food or be prepared to buy your meal on board (they don't accept cash, only bank/credit cards). This was a 5 and a half hour flight."
Voordelen: "Ticket prices were almost half of what the other carriers had available at the time I purchased. The crew were very attentive and friendly."
Nadelen: "The seating was a little tight. Food options during the flight required a purchase. Serving sizes for most items were small and expensive. I did not see an option to preorder. Despite the passenger makeup being mainly English-speakers all announcements were made first in Icelandic and then in English. Boarding at Reykjavik was a free for all, which caused delays getting to our seat due to all the inconsiderate people who got on early and filled up the overhead bins."

Nadelen: "At the gate during boarding, I was told I was selected for special screening. It wouldn't have been so bad had the first check point caught this. Instead, I had to walk all the way back to the first check point to be screened. Nothing better than being the last person to board the plane. It was a crowded flight, which made it a bit more uncomfortable. Water, juice, tea and coffee were complimentary, everything else you had to pay for."
Nadelen: "The Reykjavik airport is not set up to handle the amount of traffic it's getting. Boarding was completely disorganized with everyone just waiting for the gates to open. Then we were bused (in the rain) to our plane)."

Nadelen: "Reykjavik airport (KEF) is much too crowded and there are not enough seats for passengers in the waiting area. The boarding onto the plane was disorderly and no announcements were made to provide directions. If you fly to Europe from USA, avoid Reykjavik. Iceland Air charges extra for snacks, headphones, and seat assignments. Even after buying "discount" tickets, the extra charges boost the cost to the same as all the other airlines. The plane only had two bathrooms on-board so there was a line during the entire six hour flight."
Nadelen: "Flight was delayed AFTER we boarded and were taxi-ing the runway. We had to deboard and wait 3 hours until the plane was ready. It really interrupted my travel schedule once I landed in Washington DC. The airline didn't even offer us food vouchers or anything while we waited."

I arrived 3 hours before departure and had to stand in lines that were not clearly defined for 2 and a half hours. Everybody complained. Even the luggage band when I checked my bag was broken. Nobody came to assist the passengers"
Voordelen: "The airplane was new and had a reasonable collection of movies in the personal entertainment system"
Nadelen: "Where to start... Keflavik is the worst layover airport I can think off. No space, no amenities, no bathrooms and the layout fircing you to go through a way overcrowded store and a single food option for all converging flights in a 2 hr timeframe. (Unless you hangout before passport check) Than Iceland air.. Even worse. No food, not even a snack for free. The food they do sell is last weeks pre packed leftover sandwitches from the airport shop. They stop by 2x during a 8 hr flight and have to see if they can get you a coffee. For kids they bring a free meal but this is a macaroni salad not catered for kids"

Nadelen: "We left quite late. I believe it was to wait for TSA screening conducted on passengers with connecting flights."
Nadelen: "The gate situation at the Iceland airport is terrible. They have no place for people to sit. We flew through Iceland from Amsterdam continuing on to Portland. When we went to our out bound flight there was no place to sit. Hundreds of people were sitting on the floor. Eventually it was standing room only for over an hour. Immediately adjacent to our gate were 4 other gates. All flight departures from these gates were scheduled with 20 minutes of each other! That's nearly 1,000 passengers gathering in a narrow concourse with no separate gate seating. Very miserable conditions. Need I say more."
Nadelen: "The baggage took over an hour to come out. It was 11:30pm and we needed to pick up our rental car and still drive to our apartment in Reykjavik. We arrived at the apartment at 2:30am and had to leave by 9:00am to go to the Blue Lagoon. Wishing the baggage had come out much faster."
Voordelen: "We did not know our gate was changed and went to the wrong gate. Our flight from Amsterdam was delayed and although we went straight to our next flight we almost missed it and two of our three bags did not arrive at Seattle when we did."
Nadelen: "I liked the northern lights effect of the flight from Seattle to Keflivick."
Nadelen: "Lots of delays boarding bus for the plane and then too much time sitting on the tarmac. The terminal needs places to sit."
Nadelen: "I was told my flight was delayed, but they couldn't tell me why. The weather was beautiful and I didn't understand why there was a 2+ hour wait. By the time we landed in Iceland, I ran to make my connecting flight but was told the door just closed. So I had to 8 hours before the next flight out. After talking to representatives, I was told there would be a claims process for my troubles. It's been over a week, I still haven't heard back from them."
Voordelen: "The entertainment system worked well."
Nadelen: "My flight leaving Amsterdam was delayed by two hours. Luckily, in an odd way, my connecting flight to NYC was also delayed by 1 and a half hours. I did not realize that we had to PAY for our food, so I ended up being hungry and not eating anything for the entire journey. We stayed on the Tarmac at jfk for close to an hour waiting for our gate to be open. And finally, all three of my bags did not make it New York. In fact, I'm still waiting for them. Very disappointing."
Voordelen: "It was a fine flight. The crew are good."
Nadelen: "The flight was delayed and gates were switched. Food selection not great."
Voordelen: "The crew and flight experience on Icelandair is wonderful. These people have my business whenever ai plan to make a similar trip."
Nadelen: "Reykjavik's airport is too small for the amount of traffic Icelandair is generation and the gate/boardung system...well, there isn't really a system, so it's a mess to get on a plane at busy times. Airport is being expanded but it appears to be slow going."
Voordelen: "Can't think of a thing."
Nadelen: "Late. Crowded."
