It was far too cold. Had to wear my coat and use the blanket. Very unpleasant.

Staff are Experience and helpful and cheerful makes you feel at home good airlines 👍

Unfortunately the return flight was very busy and I assume due to COVID precautions and ventilation the aircraft was very cold. Economy is not that bad but when a full row feels very congested and almost like you’re sitting on top of each other. The flight was delayed at short notice and we were also additionally delayed upon landing when they could open the doors. The flight out there by virgin was great however the return flight not so much.

Had a brillant flight from LAX and the lady that check us in at LAX on the vs6848 flight to Manchester was outstanding ! And deserves recognition! She was patient with when we were paniced about us been late and havibg five chikdren under five...she kept us clam... reassured us and booked our bags..ensure my elderly mother had assistance and also waited for my husband who had gone to the toilet and jad got himself lost in the airport. We made it to the plan on time... please fjnd that lady as I really want her to be recognized The plane was of high standard and we got the seats thats worked well with our large family My email is lubanzu.ssbs@yahoo.co.uk if you need more information.

The leg room was so tight that I could not pick up things off the floor without putting my head in the next persons lap. Though the cabin crew were smiley and friendly, it was hard to get their attention when needed. The PA system is much louder than the entertainment, so announcements were ear bursting. The dinner selections ran out early, so a good proportion did not get their choice."

Nadelen: "Entertainment systems take up foot/bag space underneath the seats. Was not able to get more than one glass of wine, even though I missed the first beverage service, that is my fault though, but I don't recall it being an issue getting a drink between services. Entertainment systems had contrast issues and it seemed like a lot of people 8 - 10 had issues since they were using iPads instead of the built in monitors. A lot of wear showing on the entertainment systems remotes."

Nadelen: "Watch out for checked baggage fees on short haul international flights. If you buy their saver fare, VA charges you $130 to check a bag at the check-in counter. Highway robbery in my opinion! Make sure you add a bag beforehand. Corporate greed at its worst."
Nadelen: "They tried checking my carryon luggage because they said it was overweight and it would be $130. This is absurd, especially since it isn't going to change in weight by getting checked. I refused to pay this amount. The flight was also 3 hours delayed, almost missed my connection back to the states from SYD. Other international flights offer free meal service, you were lucky if you got water on this flight and had to pay for any snacks."

Nadelen: "Th flight from Istanbul to Saint Petersburg though was in an old Airbus 319-100 that should be retired or upgraded soon. Unfortunately I lost my Vaccination Card boarding this last flight. Is there any way I could get it back?"

We sat on the plane, by the gate, while the crew called the Istanbul Flight Control to figure out when our plane could arrive. This flight had been scheduled for weeks; I would think they could plan the arrival time to be the ACTUAL arrival time."

Nadelen: "Flight was over an hour late boarding and spent nearly 45 aboard the plane waiting to depart. No updates from the staff about our departure status or boarding status throughout the almost 2 hour delay. Got an email from Turkish airlines about this issue and they claim the flight was only 25 minutes late departing. Exaggerations occur sometimes when people are inconvenienced so I checked my call logs and social media accounts and found I completed multiple phone calls and status updates from New York over and hour after Turkish airlines tells me I left. One of us is lying and at this point I'm inclined to agree with facebook that I was still in JFK airport an hour after my flight was scheduled to leave when I updated my status to gripe about the delays."

Nadelen: "This is our second experience of flights being cancelled via Turkish Airlines. Very disappointing customer care when flights get cancelled. Staff totally unprepared and untrained for such situations. We waited around for 6 hours before finding out on our own, that the flight was cancelled. The notice was not shown on the board. In all waited around at the airport for more than 10 hours before we were finally carted off to a small hotel near by at 1230am in the morning. Very little to no information given throughout the whole process, stranded with parched throats, no luggage, clean clothes or toothbrush."

I want to particularly commend the attendant who, after I notified her that someone was very ill in the adjacent bathroom, stood discreetly nearby and offered the person a glass of water when he emerged. Very considerate."
Nadelen: "The transfer was a horrible, stressful experience. We knew it as a short connection but Lufthansa had accepted it. On our outward bound flight three weeks earlier, we were all met and escorted swiftly by a flight attendant from the first leg plane (EWR-MUN) to the second leg plane (MUN-Nice) to ensure that we all made it onboard. Impressive. On our return journey, no such luck! No attendant to meet us, and a huge line at immigration, full of panicked and stressed-out passengers jockeying for position, with no-one from ANY airline there to do a triage for those with the shortest connections. Ridiculous. In addition, the passport-scanning machines were very slow and quirky. My own passport was rejected because there was no evidence I had passed through Munich on my outward bound journey!! RIDICULOUS. I managed to slip through to a human being and begged the immigration officer to let me go through with my husband, who had had no such problem. The officer told me he could not find a stamp from my earlier transit through!!! Eventually I suppose he did because he let me through. The stamp was there, I found it, but it had been sloppily applied and was half off the page...hence the rejection by the scanner. We made the flight by minutes. NOT GOOD! Surely Lufthansa could do better in their own country???"

Nadelen: "It looks like Lufthansa has decided to make business class more like "Premium Economy" with lie flat seats. 1) Food was very average with very little selection. 2) Dessert was a joke - other airlines have ice cream sundaes 3) NO HANDICAP BATHROOM. Must be illegal. FAA require Disability access by Disabilities Act. 4) Amenities kit - worst I have seen in all the airlines I have traveled. 5) Snack bar - No selection, just small chocolate, water and orange juice. Even economy planes like Jet Blue have better selection. German people are getting used to mediocrity and I am surprised. World class airline with cheap customer side product. Don't cut costs on things that customers see, touch and eat. To add to that, my mother in law is handicapped. When transferring her to the gate, they took her in a bus and did not strap the wheel chairs next to her chair. All of them fell on her - YES! THEY ALL FELL FROM A HEIGHT ON A HANDICAPPED PERSON WHO HAS ARTHRITIS AND IN PAIN ALL THE TIME. Damaged her knee joints. This is why we travel business class - and they hurt her more than if we took her our selves."

Nadelen: "The flight was delayed with no explanation or announcement as to why. The flight attendants only passed the beverage cart or served water when serving the meals during the 9-hour flight. At no other time did they check to see if the passengers wanted a beverage."
Voordelen: "The crew was competent and friendly. Once we missed our connection, the "help desk" was accommodating, though we had to stand in line for a long, long time before they could help us."
Nadelen: "We were delayed leaving Munich and the pilot simply said he had no explanation. The delay, combined with massive dysfunction at the Newark airport, caused us to miss our connection to RDU. We ended up in an airport hotel where we caught four hours' sleep before returning to the airport. Newark airport is the worst I've ever experienced. Getting our passports stamped took more than an hour. There were five officials there to clear five or six hundred U.S. passport holders. Then, the TSA people were rude, inefficient, and achingly slow. Overall, it was a horrible experience."

Nadelen: "•We boarded and consequently landed late, which caused my cousin to miss his connecting flight, coupled with the long customs process upon landing. There was no accommodation given to my cousin so I have to take him back home with me and then drive 2 hours tomorrow morning to bring him back for his new flight. •The charger ports for our seats were not working, which means we were 8 hours + without a phone. •One female flight attendant had a bad attitude and dropped pretzels in my lap after I turned to quickly ask my cousin a question regarding what drink he wanted. •The plane landing was one of the most reckless I’d ever witnessed."
Voordelen: "I liked having the option to upgrade to a Premium Economy seat for this long flight. It made a big difference in my comfort during the flight."

Nadelen: "Since I was sitting among the last seats, they ran out of.chicken and I had to settle for spinach filled ravioli. This is the only minor issue."
Nadelen: "The whole trip was a nightmare. I go out of my way to NOT fly United, In this case Lufthansa somehow just sold the ticket and United was flying it and as usual it was horrendous. We had to be re-routed via 3 separate flights jus to make our international connection thanks to our initial flight being moved up 2 hours EARLY. They closed the door in our faces. That added 8 hours of travel time to our trip which I had booked to minimize travel time as I was traveling with pets. United is the WORST."

Nadelen: "Impossible to select seats online because of technical issues thus our family got spread all over the plane in middle seat. Our next connecting flight got cancelled without notice so we got booked on the next flight 3 hours later. My complain on their web site after this poor trip has been acknowledged automatically but completely ignored by the customer service."

SAS is an extremely neat and organized airline, clear on its promises and very communicative. Of course COVID-19 caused some changes in service levels and available items (water is an optional and paid item while coffee and tea (because of them being hot) complimentary. Attendants were very clear in pointing this out which is highly appreciated.

Flight attendants were nice. even asked another passenger to move so I could have a seat for my lo infant even though I hadn’t paid for a seat for him. There was space of the flight so I didn’t feel badly about this. WiFi was affordae and generally reliable. I had a turkey pretzel bread wedge that was tasty."
Nadelen: "Witnessed many customers checking in who thought a bag was included. Entertainment is ok but screens have limited kid activities. Each leg of my flight took off 15-20 min late easily. Overall this wasn’t bad as it was made up in-air. Except one layover was only an hour, And cut it a bit close clearing passport control and traveling with two kids. No time to even see Kaflavik or pick up food or drinks. We ran to the final boarding call after clearing passport control. Also not good was that they don’t offer gate check on strollers. On a departure, you can use your stroller all the way up to the gate, but you get it back with any checked baggage at baggage claim, so you won’t have a stroller for layovers in Keflavík or clearing customs on either end. That was a pain. Strollers came up after all baggage. Not good for traveling families. Kids should be first especially after a 6 hour flight which was probably a second leg."

This was not the only time this happened. Similar experience on our trip into AMS on Jan 28th. Hoped my first experience was a "one-off", evidently not. ALSO, employees do not belong on their personal phones and watching videos etc instead of helping each other out and making sure paying customers are supported. There were several of them on personal calls and one was even watching dance videos! Also, the room for our dog had to be taken in order to relieve herself was absolutely DISGUSTING!! There was feces and urine EVERYWHERE and I was disgusted to even have to put her on the floor! The room was also bad on the way to AMS on Jan 28th but nowhere near as bad as on the return Feb 28th! The security escort was embarrassed and said that she had requested someone responsible for the clean up come to fix the problem earlier in the day but that they obviously hadn't come. MY FAMILY WILL NEVER FLY ICELANDAIR AGAIN!"

Nadelen: "I was surprised by being charged almost $100 to check in my luggage, and over $100 on my return leg. (Yes! I could have looked at their baggage policy, but there was no glaring notification alerting me to this fact when I purchased the ticket, nor when I was checking in online) Then, I was further surprised that you had to pay for food on board. This was a first. I mean, on an international long distance flight? Everything became mediocre after these, and I mentally swore off flying this airline ever again."

I would gladly have gone on the tarmack in my raingear to retrieve my bag rather than wait over an hour. We had a family member waiting for us for 2 hours!"

Nadelen: "Airline should provide a free snack such as a small sandwich, a small salad or a pastry. It is not right that during a long flight no free refreshments are offered."

Flight was delayed in taking off with no communication for reason why, and my connection was close enough to next flight that I nearly missed the flight. No complimentary snacks offered."
Nadelen: "My laggade not arrived - both of our bags , my and my husband . There are all of hot closes there . It not possible to begin a trip in Iceland without special equipment !!!"
Nadelen: "Unfortunately we were herded into a tiny waiting area, pushed up against one another waiting for a bus to take us to the plane. The wait was unnecessarily long and the room very hot. Then again we were held in a crampt and very warm bus to the aircraft. Passengers inside the bus, pushed open some of the windows to give us a little fresh cool air. Finally we exited into the rain and wind to very slowly board the aircraft in no order, which led to people standing out on a slick staircase getting rather wet prior to entering. One of the worst boarding plans I've experienced."
Nadelen: "On a trans-atlantic flight, a flight that is more than 4 hours, food should not cost, nor should the cost of food be exorbitantly expensive."

Nadelen: "Where to start... Keflavik is the worst layover airport I can think off. No space, no amenities, no bathrooms and the layout fircing you to go through a way overcrowded store and a single food option for all converging flights in a 2 hr timeframe. (Unless you hangout before passport check) Than Iceland air.. Even worse. No food, not even a snack for free. The food they do sell is last weeks pre packed leftover sandwitches from the airport shop. They stop by 2x during a 8 hr flight and have to see if they can get you a coffee. For kids they bring a free meal but this is a macaroni salad not catered for kids"
Nadelen: "The gate situation at the Iceland airport is terrible. They have no place for people to sit. We flew through Iceland from Amsterdam continuing on to Portland. When we went to our out bound flight there was no place to sit. Hundreds of people were sitting on the floor. Eventually it was standing room only for over an hour. Immediately adjacent to our gate were 4 other gates. All flight departures from these gates were scheduled with 20 minutes of each other! That's nearly 1,000 passengers gathering in a narrow concourse with no separate gate seating. Very miserable conditions. Need I say more."
Nadelen: "The baggage took over an hour to come out. It was 11:30pm and we needed to pick up our rental car and still drive to our apartment in Reykjavik. We arrived at the apartment at 2:30am and had to leave by 9:00am to go to the Blue Lagoon. Wishing the baggage had come out much faster."
Voordelen: "Planes to US waited for late arrivals from Europe/Paris Bagage was not lost."
Nadelen: "No announcement that planes to US were delayed to wait for the late arrival from Paris"
Voordelen: "We did not know our gate was changed and went to the wrong gate. Our flight from Amsterdam was delayed and although we went straight to our next flight we almost missed it and two of our three bags did not arrive at Seattle when we did."
Nadelen: "I liked the northern lights effect of the flight from Seattle to Keflivick."
Nadelen: "I was told my flight was delayed, but they couldn't tell me why. The weather was beautiful and I didn't understand why there was a 2+ hour wait. By the time we landed in Iceland, I ran to make my connecting flight but was told the door just closed. So I had to 8 hours before the next flight out. After talking to representatives, I was told there would be a claims process for my troubles. It's been over a week, I still haven't heard back from them."

Nadelen: "My flight leaving Amsterdam was delayed by two hours. Luckily, in an odd way, my connecting flight to NYC was also delayed by 1 and a half hours. I did not realize that we had to PAY for our food, so I ended up being hungry and not eating anything for the entire journey. Very disappointing."

Nadelen: "Reykjavik's airport is too small for the amount of traffic Icelandair is generation and the gate/boardung system...well, there isn't really a system, so it's a mess to get on a plane at busy times. Airport is being expanded but it appears to be slow going."
