Nadelen: "Low cost airline so they charge you for everything. I had to pay $159 to check a bag for a 1.5 hour flight. That nearly doubled the cost of the original ticket. By the time they charge you for everything, you don't save any money. And they even weigh every purse, backpack, handbag, etc. at the gate and start charging customers for carry on. Don't fly with these guys. And because their customers are dissatisfied, all the employees I encountered were rude."

Nadelen: "Houston airport qatar airways check in office has 4 counters and 2 were for people who electronically checked in and they were only a few and other 2 counters were for the huge line. Need more counters. Doha airport has majority of Indian national personell at check in and luggage checkins. They have to learn some manners and be polite with people. Rudeness is a turn off passengers who are tired"

In my case I had several electronic items which I had to carry onto the aircraft and store awkwardly which created a major risk of my camera and laptop being damaged in the process. This is not the kind of service I expect from Qatar Airways, especially considering the exorbitant ticket prices."

Initially charged $1000 for 3 tickets for modification of return trip - confirmed the same and tickets issued (i'm fine with this). But, after i made arrangements for new date, I got a call saying calculation error and asked to pay another $500 leaving me no choices. How can such a reputed airline have no tools to calculate the pay? Other airlines offered one-way for half of the price i paid. On top of it, online helpdek promised front line seat to satisfy me but nothing was offered even if i ask explicitly. Simply declined saying i am not in priority list. Why do they make false promises? Friends, Just don't fly in Qatar for food....."

"I'm not really sure what the difference is between Economy and Premium Economy on these long-haul flights, especially when the plan isn't very full and people in Economy can lie down across an entire row. The seats in Premium Economy are a bit bigger, but you can't recline or lie down and I'm pretty sure we get the same food options as regular economy. You get a little goodie bag that you don't really need. Also, there is really no point upgrading to business class on the short flights with Lufthansa. The seat size is the same as the rest of the plane. So, you're paying $50 or so for a pretty small snack/meal and a curtain between you."

Nadelen: "I propose to keep on board the plane some bright and interesting toys for calming the children who, for almost the entire 10-hour flight, cry and do not give rest to all the passengers. I understand that parents should have worried about this. But if the parents can not do anything with their child, the new toys could help calm the child, and not turn a long flight into torture for other passengers and crew."

I asked her are we not going to get anything to eat since you are out of options. She continuously kept on repeating that I said no and that she kept emphasizing that there is only beef option left. Finally she save the supplement To meal. Her tone was very impolite when especially we pay so much and service we get for a long flight is good"

Nadelen: "Automaten Check in / boarding Cards, is hard for some people and took really long . Extra help on these machines would be good"

Nadelen: "The seats are too close. When reclined it's not possible to get out."

Nadelen: "The flight was transferred to a smaller plane, either because there were few passengers (the first story we heard) or because of mechanical problems on the original craft (the second story). Business class was oversold as a result, and boarding was delayed for an hour while they waited for enough BC passengers to accept 800 euros for the downgrade to economy plus. They repeatedly threatened to cancel the flight rather than raise the offer. Eventually enough knuckled under and we were allowed to leave. Some no doubt missed connections because of this petty brinkmanship. The funny coda is that because the plane was so undersold, anyone in economy that wanted their own row could have one, while economy plus was packed with the embittered and downgraded."

Voordelen: "I always try to fly with Lufthansa when I do go to Germany to visit my family. At times they might be more expensive then others but you don't pay extra for everything. Also I got a great price at Kayak. The service was excellent and I do love the fact that Lufthansa is now flying directly from Denver to Munich makes it so much easier."

Nadelen: "There is no one at Kayak to answer questions on weekends. Message says "call back during 'regular' business hours" but does not specify what that means, nor what time zone they are in. (BTW, most people travel on weekends so ya may want to consider providing customer service then...duh). When I finally was able to reach someone in order to upgrage to Premium Economy, they could not help me but said they would send an email with an answer to how much that would cost. The email never came. I will never book with Kayak again."

Nadelen: "1 person working the service desk. I had a question about our connecting flight from Frankfurt and I was told to call the 1-800 number. When I went to check my bag the woman was very rude and asked me "why do I think I can check two bags?" and questioned my Star Alliance premium silver status, demanding I show her my card (I have no card). My friend was flying with me and she was told that her carry on, mind you had flown to and within europe, was too big for the overhead storage and she had to pay 90 euros to check it and the woman held her boarding pass and wouldn't give it to her. we waited in line at the service desk for over 40 minutes so that she could pay. We arrived to the airport 2.5 hours early to eat and shop for souvenirs. We barely made it in time to get to our gate because of the inefficiencies of Lufthansa. 1 person working a service desk for a large airport is unacceptable, especially when they are 8-10 waiting to scan your baggage and not helping out at all. I had a wonderful flight to Europe on Lufthansa and was absolutely appalled at the attitudes of the airport staff and their lack of customer service."

Voordelen: "Good was yummy and the setwardess were super friendly. Staff was plentiful and the plan was very modern and high tech. Also had a layover in Munich airport and it was amazing. Very high tech, I took advantage of the napcaps and shower facilities. Also the restaurants were on par with great red win."
Nadelen: "The flight was 11 hours.... can you make that a little quicker next time, I mean come on it's 2017...."

Voordelen: "They fed us well, and the food was surprisingly good. Feather pillows were a nice touch, and great variety of movies to choose from on the long flight."

Nadelen: "Flying to Munich- flight was cancelled. Had to rebook on United for the following day. Arrived almost 2 days late (the original was direct, the United had layovers) and missed a planned trip to Neuschwanstein castle. Flying from Munich- The entertainment screen was broken, completely unusable. After a hard reset by the flight attendant several times... Still broken. She said she thought it would fix itself once we were at cruising altitude. Nope. Notified the flight attendant who said vaguely "I'll see what I can do..." Never came back to check, never got offered any sort of compensation (even something like a free mixed drink would have been nice), offer to move seats, nothing. So- ten hours with no entertainment/nothing to watch, just a malfunctioning screen. Food was mediocre. We boarded late, and left almost 1 hour late because they had to wait for an employee (who was not working, just getting a ride back) to board. Literally there and back with Lufthansa was a fiasco. On top of it, we have been back for 3 weeks and are still waiting to hear back from Lufthansa customer service. Apparently they only communicate by email with complaints. Not over the phone. So after repeated emails, just radio silence. Terrible airline."

Voordelen: "Everything was wonderful! Lufthansa is spot on from boarding, to in flight service to the moment you leave. They are helpful, friendly, fun and a wonderful crew where I know I'm in good hands!"

Lufthansa invited us to check-in early, but would not allow us to finish the check-in online process the day prior: seemed to be glitch in their computer system. We arrived at the airport early, but no one at Lufthansa could help us with seat assignments in order to seat our 12-yo daughter next to a partent. The airline did not open the gate area until 1+35 prior to the flight (advertised 2-hrs prior), and did not put anyone at the gate-desk until 1-hr prior to departure ...and they still could not help us. Boarding was disorganized; Lufthansa appeared to board by different groups, but there were no announcements as to which group(s) should board. Instead there was just a large crowd milling about, waiting to push their way to a gate agent. Very un-German."

Voordelen: "Lufthansa is by far the best airline. All crew members were very friendly and attentive. Food was also great."

Voordelen: "Air dolomiti - great service, prosecco in a real glass and with small sandwich provided."

Nadelen: "Cold. My chair was bumped because us was just a little bit broader in the gangway than the other chairs. (54c) There is no possebility fot ordering foid for me: diet is without grains at all and without sugar at all."

Voordelen: "I have a servere hearing problem and was concerned (since we were late leaving Zurich for my changeover in Frankfurt), that I would be late because I can't hear any loudspeaker systems (either on planes or in airports). I felt that I could get easily lost between flights and not have time to get to the Frankfurt/Denver flight. I told this to the person at the gate in Zurich, and he immediately arranged for someone to meet me in Frankfurt and take me there. I was met by Maika in Frankfurt and she was just excellent--personable and efficient and really helpful. I'm sorry I couldn't remember the name of the person at the gate in Zurich. He was also great. I wouldn't have done this if I had had more time, but this really made my day (and my flight!) ! Thank you!"

Voordelen: "Almost nothing was enjoyable about the overseas Lufthansa flights I took. This particular flight, however, did not make me sick like the initial Lufthansa flight to Europe. I also appreciated that the crew asked the passengers in front of me to put their seats up during meals."
Nadelen: "The overseas Lufthansa flights have the least space of all the flights and trains I took throughout my trip, including other Lufthansa flights within Europe. The bathrooms were more cramped and fewer in number for an overbooked flight, boarding was disorganized and delayed, the passengers in front of me put their seats all the way back for most of the flight, and seriously, just a few more inches of space would make these long flights 104% better. I think everyone would be happier to fly on less awful planes, including the poor crew who has to deal with miserable passengers."

Nadelen: "Poor timing - no reason for a 40 minute delay at take off (plane was fully boarded in time) Old aircraft, shabby, dirty and cramped seats. Coming from my connecting flight from Barcelona, I could clearly tell the different in the quality (and cleanliness) of the aircrafts."

Voordelen: "Smooth boarding, clean seats/plane, nice small aircraft (2 rows x 2 seats each), surprisingly spacious (more legroom than expected - and I’m 6’2”)."
Nadelen: "About 1h30min delay without an explanation. All other planes in the terminal seemed to take off on time without a problem, without exception (aside from this flight, of course)."

Nadelen: "The boarding area was total chaos. In order to get to the gate I had to literally fight with the 100s of people who were waiting in the same area. No priority was given to family with children or elite members. Even when we complaint at the personnel we were told that “it was busy”. Usually KLM flight from Venice depart from the first floor where gates are bigger and you get straight with the finger to the airplane. Today it hasn’t been the case .... too poor service for a KLM fight"

Voordelen: "Really friendly staff. Great service"

Voordelen: "Cabin crew were very professional."
Nadelen: "Aircraft returned to gate due to fault and was delayed for 45 min."

Voordelen: "crew were absolutely delightful, full of smiles and doing everything to make you comfortable. seats were fine enough and got some work done and a bit of sleep. first lunch was fresh and tasty, but the second, a burger, was edible, but not much more."
Nadelen: "tv screens are dated so movies are not as crisp as you find in newer planes. you need a 2 prong audio adapter to use your own headphones."

Voordelen: "Delayed flight but staff apologized as for safety reasons."

Nadelen: "the connection flights was the worse! The gate was changed in Amsterdam 3 times! From D82 to C6 and then to C11. The distance between B82 and C was 20-30 minutes walk. No rushing was needed though, the flight was delayed for 1:30h and after we all boarded a further delay was announced. I will never fly with KLM."

Nadelen: "Crowded seating, 20-year old video system, headphones that did not match the two-jack system, lackluster service in flight. Generally my experience with KLM has been good, but this was well below average."

Voordelen: "In Toronto werd ik aangesproken door een dame van KLM met de vraag hoe ik reisde, alleen of in groepsverband etc. Zij gaf aan dat ik gebruik kon maken van de lounge en dat er hulp aanwezig was om bagage in te checken bij de self check-in. Uitermate vriendelijke en behulpzame dame. Tijdens de vlucht was er zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam cabinepersoneel beschikbaar."

Nadelen: "Lang wachten bij de incheck"

Voordelen: "The crew were pleasant"

Voordelen: "We vertrokken vanuit Tapei 10 minuten voor plan. We kwamen bijna 3 keartier voor schema aan."
Nadelen: "Omdat Economy Comfort vol zat (een maand van te voren), een exit roe geboekt. Wel veel beenruimte, maar in de breedte echt te krap voor een vlucht van 12 uur."

Nadelen: "After paying for 2 seats next to each other, Iceland Air decided to change the aircraft and reboked us on regular seats. I am 6ft6 with bad back therefore booked the extra legroom seats and want to have my wife next to me to assist me with putting the carry-on lugage up in the spaces above. We ended up sitting 3 seats apart, I was in the extra legroom seat but in a middle seat,so I could not put my feet in the isle to prevent leg cramps. When we boarded the flight from Reykjavik to Boston I notified the stewardess and she assured she would help, but I never saw her again and no one came to our help. Also when we entered the REK airport after flying from Amsterdam we were not notified to keep our passport on us, as we needed to go tru another checkpoint. My wife had our pasports and went to check some shops, while I was reading a newspaper. After noticing that I could not go to the boarding area for our next flight, I was able to locate my wife and we barely made it to the gate in time."

Voordelen: "Checkin counter was very helpful. Crew during the flight was polite and helpful even under the circumstances of having to deal with another airline's plane due to the MAX difficulties. The in flight entertainment is ok but hopefully they can get more current and a larger selection of movies."
Nadelen: "Boarding at the gate was unorganized even if the crew thinks it is ok. They call by rows but the attendants don't check and therefore the queue becomes a clump of people. The food offered either pre-ordered or bought on board leaves a lot to be desired."

Voordelen: "Returning from Europe via KEF on Icelandair is convenient and is far less expensive than a direct flight from Berlin, where we spent most of our time on this trip. There is nothing outstanding about the service on Icelandair, but is it acceptable."
Nadelen: "Boarding Icelandair at the Amsterdam airport is always slow, due to repeated and unexplained delays. It was not as bad this time as it was when we made the same trip a year ago, but it was far from prompt."

Voordelen: "Flight delayed due to mechanical keep us informed."
Nadelen: "The layover is to tight, in a delay either you or your bag doesn't make it. Our flight was the last flight for the day , we ran to make our connection but half the bags didn't make it."

Nadelen: "The attendants kept bumping the seats when they walked by."

Voordelen: "Crew was great, seats were comfortable, plenty of space"

Voordelen: "Seat was good, crew friendly, easy boarding"
Nadelen: "Newer movies, better sound from media screen, food"

Voordelen: "When I booked my Economy Light fare from Denver to Paris, I was expecting a trying experience. But to the contrary, I found the entire trip to Paris and back enjoyable. I found the boarding quick and efficient, plus the flight attendants were genuinely friendly and helpful."
Nadelen: "Short answer: Nothing. Icelandair is my new favorite low-cost airline for trips to Europe."

Voordelen: "Nice clean comfortable plane with plenty of entertainment options."
Nadelen: "Found it much too warm in the plane"

Voordelen: "Everything was punctuated!"
Nadelen: "It was a long flight so they should give a snack or something to eat!"

Voordelen: "Crew was very helpful and friendly, and we were greeted with a bottle of water for the flight. Entertainment is nice with free movies, music and Iceland travel video blogs. Water/soda/coffee offered multiple times, and water additional times."
Nadelen: "Boarding was walk-to-outside-stairs, more an airport versus airline thing, in truth the fresh air was nice, just glad it wasn't pouring rain. Seat comfort was barely okay, the 757 seats were basically in contact with my knees, tough for such a long flight. Their 767's are much better. Didn't like paying 60 GBP (pounds, about $75) for 3 sandwich lunches with 3 alcoholic drinks, IcelandAir could do better."

Voordelen: "Nice leg Space"
Nadelen: "They were missing lots of food on the menu. There was an delay but we didn’t get any info or apology."

Voordelen: "Nice service"
Nadelen: "Long waits to board, wait for bus from term to plane; no clear direction from gate staff as to where queues were"

Voordelen: "From Amsterdam to Reykjavik was not so bad."

Nadelen: "Need to buy your own food"

Voordelen: "Staff on the ground were poor. Check in agents were sllothlike. Not a good morning or thank you either. Suoervisor talked to agents in language we couldn't understand but appeared to be chit chat. I asked if it might be possible to buy an upgrade. Gate agents were on their phone inconvenienced by my question. Turns out there were many empty premium seats that we would have bought that remained empty on the flight."

Voordelen: "The services and staff is great in the plane"
Nadelen: "While boarding the flight from amsterdam the plane was too hot and suffocated due to some technical difficulty. I almost passed out sitting at my seat until they gave me some cold towels and cold water. the temperature inside the plane was at 35C and everyone was sweaty before the plane took off and the engines got rolling."

Nadelen: "My flight was delayed an hour and a half with no explanation so I almost missed my connecting flight even after sprinting through the airport. I called for a reason why it was so delayed and the customer service rep had a poor attitude and offered little help."

Voordelen: "Icelandair's seat headrests are very comfortable for sleeping."
Nadelen: "The Reykjavik airport, although it has nice restaurants, is ill equipped to handle the number of passengers going through it!"

Voordelen: "Size of the Reykjavik airport."
Nadelen: "Not enough space for legs in the economy class. The chair back support was not working correctly ( couldn't be blocked in the reclined position). Very uncomfortable chairs overall. No food included in the price of a ticket for such long flight? Poorly organized and managed departure process. The passenger next to me was sick looking. He was coughing loudly and frequently all the time during that flight. For more then 7h of the flight no flight attendant demonstrated ANY interest or offered any help. Furthermore when his female companion (wife?) asked just for cup of water so he could get his meds at the beginning of the flight they were told to wait for the regular service to start (what took app 30min). So overall my impression of the Icelandair service is no more then just O'k."

Voordelen: "The separate cabin"
Nadelen: "The business seats did not have leg elevation & did not lie flat making sleep difficult. Comfort was compromised since I could not elevate my legs"

Voordelen: "We normally really like flying Icelandair and enjoy the ability to have a stopover in Iceland. The crew is always very nice and this flight was no exception."
Nadelen: "The plane, or at least our section of it, was very warm. We were near the doors between Business Class and Economy, so we were expecting it to be even a little cold, but it was so warm that I was in a tank top the entire flight. The boarding process in Reykjavik was very odd, even for them. There was just a door in the wall under our gate # and without warning it was opened and everyone just got up and went through it. There was no announcement. Apparently the checkin desk was upstairs. We then waited 20 minutes in line, before they finally started boarding us int he order we were queued - again, no announcement."

Voordelen: "Staff is very friendly and easy to get to and from connecting flights. Chairs are reasonable but still too little leg room"
Nadelen: "The slick jetway stairs when it rains or snows. Disorganized check in in Amsterdam , but that is a reflection on the subcontractor."

Voordelen: "The entertainment system was great. There were tons of movies that were available in flight which was nice."
Nadelen: "The crew was not that nice, there wasn't even a snack offered (I was told no multiple times when I asked for water), and they failed to keep us updated on all delays/connections. I was very disappointed when we were delayed 45 minutes and were given no updates as to the delay. We had a connecting flight from Reykjavik to JFK and we landed 10 minutes before the connecting flight was to take off. No one on board made an announcement or really knew what was going on. For an airline that has branded itself "my stopover" they should have reassured and updated all passengers as to connections and delays. It was very nerve wracking and did not need to be that way. Very disappointing."

Voordelen: "There was more leg room that we thought there would be; we were left alone to sleep by the attendants. The pilots let us know important information."
Nadelen: "We were 3 hours late to Denver after leaving Iceland late. This was partially due to weather. The only upsetting thing was the $31 "dinner" available in the airport consisting of a frozen individual pizza, sandwich and 2 waters! We felt like we were being gouged for the airlines issues. The entertainment system on this flight from Iceland to Denver was a bit old and of all four flights, the system was difficult to access."

Nadelen: "The airport lost power for about 10 seconds, but our flight was delayed by over 30 minutes. The crew wasn't able to tell us whether the delay was due to the power loss or another plane being late, which we saw unloading."

Voordelen: "The entertainment provided was great, the seats were fairly comfortable and the flight crew was great"

Voordelen: "What's nice is Iceland air allows free seat selection."
Nadelen: "Icelandair offers no meals or snacks on an overseas 7+ hour flight. That's pathetic. I don't mind cutting corners to save air fare price, but you have to offer SOMETHING to eat, a cold sandwich, chips, anything, other than beverages. They only make like once beverage pass during the 7 hours, which is also cheap. The movies are extremely old. I think there was one movie from last year. Otherwise their old favorites. The movie/TV/music selection is pretty poor. So either bring your own movies to watch or sleep, which is also hard. Iceland's international Keflavik airport, is in need of improvement if they're going to try to increase tourism. While it was Nov, and short days, it was windy and snowing. They use buses to get you to the plane or you have to walk about 50 yds. If you're carting big carryons, are seniors or handicapped, it's rough. You don't want to wear a coat for this short boarding/deboarding because you don't want to have to store it in the overhead. They need to get gangways for boarding or provide something for people wait in. There is no waiting area with seats while you wait for your plane. On one departure, people were sitting on the stairs or floors. There are some waiting areas, but they're away from the gates, and not enough seats. What made it worse, they had three flights leaving almost the same time from gates next to each other. There were crowds and lines that made no sense, people were cutting inline, and it was chaos. They don't know how to run an airport. Amsterdam didn't have waiting areas either or they were very small Not the typical American airport waiting areas we're used to. At Amsterdam you do your own boarding and luggage check in, which is confusing the first time you do it. There are things I like about European travel, but this isn't one of them."

Voordelen: "Crew was very professional and responsive to a difficult weather situation at the airport in Reykjavik."
Nadelen: "Admittedly this is something of an airport issue more than an airline issue, however considering Icelandair is one of the few airlines servicing the airport in Reykjavik there has to be some level of coordination going on between the two entities. Regardless, 5 different US-bound flights were all scheduled to leave within 15 minutes of each other in the same small corner of the Reykjavik airport, so when delays started coming in due to weather that area became an extremely congested mess. Perhaps its a cultural norm in Iceland to just remain silent in times of mini-crisis, but the desk attendants made no effort to communicate what was going on to the hundreds of people crammed in atop one another in the waiting area. This led to a lot of frustration from the waiting travelers. Both of these problems could have been prevented by better planning (not scheduling all outbound flights happening in a quarter hour's time into the same small corner of the airport) and better communication from the airline staff, the lack of which really aggravated a difficult situation for the people there. Once on the flight, though, everything went very smoothly, and the flight crew was quite apologetic and professional."

Voordelen: "On time service. Video selections. On-board wi-fi."
Nadelen: "1. Same comments regarding cramped seating as above. 2. Boarding in Reykjavik was a total fiasco. Management should visit a European or US airport to see how to load a plane in an organized fashion, as opposed to the free-for-all used in Reykjavik now. 3. Food selection for an over water flight of 7 hours was abominable! And passengers are asked to pay for it too...unheard of for trans-ocean flights."

Voordelen: "The in flight entertainment"
Nadelen: "The crew were rude and unwelcoming. Having to actually PURCHASE food and drinks on an international, transatlantic flight is ludicrous. Having made the trip from the USA to Europe many, many times, this was a shock and something that i didn't prepare for. The cabin crew were extremely rude and uncaring. Being offered a drink of water once in 7.5 hours is ridiculous and frankly dangerous for some. This was not a cheap flight, so for such poor service, I think things need to change. A smile from a crew member may not go a miss either. Thanks Icelandair, but i shall not be choosing you for my travel needs in the future, and neither will my friends and colleagues."

Voordelen: "Nothing"
Nadelen: "Terrible boarding, no service or attendance, unprofessional and unfriendly attitude. I arrived 3 hours before departure and had to stand in lines that were not clearly defined for 2 and a half hours. Everybody complained. Even the luggage band when I checked my bag was broken. Nobody came to assist the passengers"

Voordelen: "The airplane was new and had a reasonable collection of movies in the personal entertainment system"
Nadelen: "Where to start... Keflavik is the worst layover airport I can think off. No space, no amenities, no bathrooms and the layout fircing you to go through a way overcrowded store and a single food option for all converging flights in a 2 hr timeframe. (Unless you hangout before passport check) Than Iceland air.. Even worse. No food, not even a snack for free. The food they do sell is last weeks pre packed leftover sandwitches from the airport shop. They stop by 2x during a 8 hr flight and have to see if they can get you a coffee. For kids they bring a free meal but this is a macaroni salad not catered for kids"

Nadelen: "When we arrived at Keflavik airport the terminal was immensely crowded with several flights due to leave the US at once. It was overcrowded to the point of being uncomfortable and there was a 30min+ wait to buy food from the only shop. As a result we did not have time to grab a bite to eat between flights. My partner was subjected to additional TSA checks which I am aware is a random check and a nescessity but due to the amount of flights departing for the US this took an extra hour, and delayed our flight. I'm thankful that Iceland Air didn't leave without us but it was an immensely stressful experience that I don't wish to go through again."

Nadelen: "The gate situation at the Iceland airport is terrible. They have no place for people to sit. We flew through Iceland from Amsterdam continuing on to Portland. When we went to our out bound flight there was no place to sit. Hundreds of people were sitting on the floor. Eventually it was standing room only for over an hour. Immediately adjacent to our gate were 4 other gates. All flight departures from these gates were scheduled with 20 minutes of each other! That's nearly 1,000 passengers gathering in a narrow concourse with no separate gate seating. Very miserable conditions. Need I say more."

Voordelen: "Nothing to like except that we finally got here."
Nadelen: "Late departure. Not enough fuel in plane so had to refuel in Minneapolis. Even with headwinds, there should have been enough fuel put into the plane to complete the trip. They stopped in at an airport that was experiencing thunderstorms, and while we were refueling, our plan was struck by lightening and then had to to be examined for damage before continuing on. We were on the ground, in the plane, for a total of 4 hours, waiting. Finally were advised that the crew had "timed out" and could not fly any more that day, so we spent the night and all the next day sleeping on the floor in the airport. Icelandair was not at all prepared for such a situation. Situation was somewhat chaotic with incomplete and inaccurate information given to passengers. Very poor communication on the part of Icelandair, or whoever they contract this function to. We expected to be able to leave the airport the next morning, but were told that the flight would not leave until 5 p.m. Then they changed the time to 8:20 p.m. but didn't announce that. Then that flight delayed until 9:00 p.m. We finally got off the ground a little after 10:00 p.m. On top of all this, many passengers' entertainment systems did not work, and this made for a very long and frustrating flight. Not good, Icelandair."

Nadelen: "Our plane was diverted to refuel - after an hour and a half of increasingly cryptic and contradictory communications while sitting on the ground, we were removed from the plane and given cots to sleep on the airport floor. No staff present to provide information, no communication by email, noone available by phone, no updates on the website, vague rumors from another airline's staff of a "possible flight" the following evening.....no idea how/when we'd get back to Denver. We got a car and started driving...huge vote of no confidence in Iceland Air, its equipment and staff."

Voordelen: "Crew was pleasant. Leg room was better then on airlines in the U.S., and it was much easier to get out of the seat with the armrest lifting mon the aisle seat."
Nadelen: "The boarding process was difficult, as four flights to the U.S. were leaving at the same time and it was almost impossible to get to the gate because of the thick wall of people and no aisles. We were then put on a bus to the plane, but the bus didn't leave for over 30 minutes, well after the takeoff time, and no explanation was given. The temperature on the plane was extremely uncomfortable. Most of the time, it was very hot, and I am accustomed to flights being on the cool side and requesting a blanket. But someone must have been adjusting the temperature, because it would get cold for a short period of time, and then very hot again. It was difficult to sleep because of the temperature. It would have been nice to have some small snacks like pretzels offered with the drinks, and a larger selection of food available."

Voordelen: "We did not know our gate was changed and went to the wrong gate. Our flight from Amsterdam was delayed and although we went straight to our next flight we almost missed it and two of our three bags did not arrive at Seattle when we did."
Nadelen: "I liked the northern lights effect of the flight from Seattle to Keflivick."

Voordelen: "I had an exit seat and was the first one of the plane. I get nervous on planes so sitting across from the flight attendant and seeing how nonchalant and calm she was during takeoff and landing was awesome and mildly soothing. She also didn't make any eye contact while I quietly freaked out..like a pro!"

Voordelen: "New, clean interiors of the planes, help getting wheelchairs in IAD, KEF, and JFK for wife"
Nadelen: "Flights constantly late, connections missed, luggage not catching up until the next day, terminal in Reykjavik small, dirty - toilets really small and very dirty and unsanitary, not calling for people that are in wheelchairs or need extra time boarding before the flight, having to use steps to get down from the 757 in Keflavik almost impossible for someone who needs a wheelchair for mobility, then crowded into a bus to get to the terminal, tight spacing for knees between seat rows"

Voordelen: "Had tunnel loading, boarded flight from back of plane, and called out the rows to board."
Nadelen: "When we got to the gate in Amsterdam, there were only about 25 seats in the waiting area for a 767 jet. Most people had to sit on the floor or stand, which was difficult for my 81 year old aunt. You really need more seating."

Voordelen: "It was a fine flight. The crew are good."
Nadelen: "The flight was delayed and gates were switched. Food selection not great."

Voordelen: "They upgraded my to economy comfort, which made all of the difference for an 8 hour transatlantic flight."

Nadelen: "Flight was delayed leaving Reykjavik. I watched our baggage be removed from the plane and head to the opposite side of the airport. It was over 30 minutes later that they announced that there was a mechanical issue with our plane and we had to switch planes. The passengers deplaned, boarded buses and were transported to the new plane. We finally took off over 2 hours late. The other major issue we had is that we were located near the back of the plane and the smell of urine and toilet chemicals was overwhelming. Every time the restroom was used, the stench permeated the back of the plane."

Voordelen: "The use of a 767 aircraft for this flight really enhances the experience. Two hours and the seat Arrangement make the flight as comfortable as possible helps the service, and in general just creates a great environment"
Nadelen: "Procedures at schiphol airport for Icelandair are disorganized and chaotic in order to Simply drop a checked bag, it is necessary to stand in a very long line of Travelers who are conducting every manner of flight busines. The route for departing passengers Criss crosses the entirety of schiphol airport at least twice making it a very long walk from the front door to your boarding gate. While much of this is not Icelandair fault, they should look at it closely for improvements as it is really bad"

Nadelen: "See above. On the flight from Denver to Amsterdam (you didn't ask about this, but I'll comment anyway), we had business class seats. They were really little more than large regular seats with legroom. We did get food on the flights, unlike the economy class. I have a major gripe about Icelander not telling you how their definitions of seating class differs from the rest of the Western airline industry. Quite deceptive."

Voordelen: "Boarding was quick and expedient. I was worried the flight might have been held up because Schiphol airport is too small to handle its increasing air traffic and is often backed up with planes waiting on the tarmac to dock or take off. But it was an early morning flight and everything went smoothly. We landed on time, disembarked efficiently, and were on our way."
Nadelen: "Everything was great."

Voordelen: "Nothing it was delayed by over an hour and there was ZERO on ground or in air rebooking support or information at all! Ground crew were useless and rude. No one was there to navigate us through a delay that you all caused. We were traveling with 5 children and there was zero sense of urgency. We missed our connecting flight as a result as did the 100+ other passengers on this flight. How could BA not notify it’s partner AA to delay the connecting transatlantic flight as a result of its 1hr long delays? Horrid!"

How could BA not notify it’s partner AA to delay the connecting transatlantic flight as a result of its 1hr long delays? Horrid!"

Nadelen: "Hotel was rubbish"

Voordelen: "British airways, does what it says on the tin."
Nadelen: "If you have any problems. Do not call customer support!!! Call centre is in SA, and the operatives are unhelpful, put the phone down and incompetent. I have reservations wheather to book with BA ever again due to my bad experience. 2 hours wasted on the phone, followed by calls the next day to finally get 2 off flights cancelled and a return flight amended in my party of 3. Not fun!!"

Nadelen: "My flight was serviced by British Airways. The temperature in the cabinet was very warm and there were no fan controls. The seats are very narrow. Miserable 9hr flight from London to Denver"

Voordelen: "crew vriendelijk"

Nadelen: "The seat was not comfortable at all. I’m 6.0 and 150lb so not very big but my shoulders were already above the head rest. Also leg space was very poor. This was an American Airlines flight by the way. 777-300 airplane. I’ve had better flying experience before in the Same type of plane"

Nadelen: "The flight should have been on time rather than 2 hours late. The Gate agents should have been more honest about what was happening."

Voordelen: "yes seats were more comfortable and more leg room than the other airlines I have used"
Nadelen: "It was all pretty good and despite leaving a little late we got there on time"

Nadelen: "Despite most of the plane being offered refreshment I never was as staff not organised enough to have time to do so, even though other airlines have managed easily."

Voordelen: "Left on time and arrived early"

Nadelen: "Generally, it was just good."

Voordelen: "Good service, entertainment screen were good. Food was good."

Voordelen: "On time arrival"
Nadelen: "In general I like the flight stability of 747s. However the seats were very cramped for such a long flight, and unlike more modern aircraft, the seats lean way back pinching the person behind. Entertainment system is rudimentary at best, with few choices and a minuscule screen (but I shouldn't complain, at least there was something to watch). Also, at Heathrow airport (nobody's favorite airport) we had to board buses to get to the airport and walk up stairs. Inefficient, and difficult for older passengers such as myself."

Voordelen: "No drinks or snacks for econome class. Its just a 1 hour flight, KLM Does serve on 1 hour flights."
Nadelen: "See above."

Voordelen: "Beenruimte"
Nadelen: "Te laat vertrokken en om vliegveld cirkelen omdat City vol was."

Voordelen: "Niets"
Nadelen: "Grote vertraging, geen uitleg, geen gratis versnapering om het goed temaken"

Voordelen: "Helpful staff, very pleasant flight and even arrived early!"
Nadelen: "The fact that you had to buy even water."

Voordelen: "Nothing"
Nadelen: "The complete lack of help from BA staff after I missed my flight. No helpful suggestions at all when I asked for guidance. Just 'the flight is closed and there are no more seats left today'."

Voordelen: "Comfortable short hop"

Voordelen: "Nice efficient crew"
Nadelen: "Announcements on plane very loud sometimes"

Voordelen: "Doordat wij op het bovendeks zaten konden we meteen boarden. Vriendelijke purser die overal de tijd voor nam."
Nadelen: "Doordat 3 mensen zich niet gemeld hadden, zaten er 4 koffers te veel aan boord. Ga maar met de hand zoeken met 15 Afrikaanse mensen in een A389."

Voordelen: "Fast as smooth"
Nadelen: "Nothing"

Nadelen: "2 Hour Delay"

Voordelen: "Last minute flight (booked 4 hours before departure), one way, economy, for €99 from Amsterdam to Edinburgh via Gatwick. Long layover at Gatwick (around 3 hours), but I had much work to do anyway, so time went faster than I realised. Not sure if this was the case at Schiphol, but at Gatwick had priority security queue as a BA customer."

Voordelen: "NA"
Nadelen: "The transfer from T5 to T3 was chaotic. Queues to join queues to get the transfer bus. People were getting caught on a moving escalator because the crowd in front had nowhere they could go to make room. Extremely dangerous! It took longer to get from T5 to T3 than it did to get from Dublin to London. Boarding in T3 for the flight to Denver was almost as bad. Bodies everywhere, no organisation and no help. Then the aircraft itself was so old with uncomfortable seats and an almost unwatchable screen. I will never transit through LHR again."

Voordelen: "The flight was short"
Nadelen: "Upon arriving at the check in desk we were told that a member of our party had been removed from the flight. While trying to work out a solution with the attendants they were incredibly unhelpful, knew very little about the situation, and at times mocked us. Lisa at the AMS location was particularly rude to the members of our party."

Nadelen: "The crew had to do a hard reset of the entertainment system. Unfortunately it took more than 1.5 hours into the flights because the first reset did not work and the crew was busy with other things."

Voordelen: "I love it the most that they are so helpful with excess baggage Which is why I always book with BA I am an entertainer working for many different cruise lines BA does not rob you blind if you have extra baggage Or your bags are slightly heavier ! Delta recently charged me $ 285 per extra bag Coming back BA charged me $90 and allowed me two bags The new policy on many airlines to literally rob a customer Is disgusting and the govt authorities should put a stop To it BA is welcoming and always professional !"
Nadelen: "Airline food is often risky to eat and The variety is poor especially if you are vegan"

Nadelen: "The boarding process could be better"

Voordelen: "Nothing."
Nadelen: "I arrived at British Air check in 6:30am. Flight was for 7:35am. They told me I was too late for check in and there's nothing I can do but pay more for the next flight. The lady was also very cold and careless in her attitude towards me. Anyways, this is a case of BA giving my seat away and then lying to me by saying I'm too late for check in. NEVER have I been told "too late to check in" an HOUR BEFORE SCHEDULED FLIGHT! I want A FULL REFUND! This is Bullshit."

Voordelen: "Simple flight left later than expect but arrived earlier than scheduled. Leg room was plenty and not like other airline where you feel packed like sardines."
Nadelen: "Nothing so far just a shame my luggage was damaged."

Nadelen: "2 drunk guys speaking Russian I think totally ruined the flight. They were ridiculously loud, making it impossible to sleep. Drinking multiple wines, they got louder and louder and more animated and sloppy. Really gross and for a 9+ hour flight, not enjoyable. Eventually, a flight attendant gently told them no more to drink and was very good. But it was too late. I have flown a ton and have never heard passengers this loud, in a foreign language. In addition, one of them was quite large with a bald head, thus intimidating. We had a very long day and just wanted to rest and that was not at al possible."

Voordelen: "Polite crew, flight was on time landing - even early. Seats were comfortable."

Nadelen: "Flight was late"

Nadelen: "According yo the kayak app on the moment of booking the flight was going to Heathrow, but it went to Gatwick. In addition, the tariff did not include one checked luggage as shown on the app as well. Really disappointed with my first use of kayak."

Voordelen: "Some sleep"
Nadelen: "No food or drink provided in crappy seats"

Voordelen: "The staff where very good, was comfy for short trip"
Nadelen: "2hr 40min delay, and a very hectic and long boarding process"

Nadelen: "90 minutes delay for a 1 hour flight. They blamed the weather but no other flights were delayed except this one. Also, I purchased a seat with no checked baggage allowance and was NOT aware of this when I booked. Will not be flying British Airways again."

Voordelen: "Quick and efficient. Very informative about delays."

Voordelen: "Checking documents on entering gate area rather than at boarding time, made for more efficient boarding"
Nadelen: "Delay in baggage reclaim due blockage in system"

Voordelen: "When it got going, a pleasant flight."
Nadelen: "The delay was longer than the flight, although not necessarily BA's fault."

Voordelen: "Nothing"
Nadelen: "Nothing was impressive at all"

Voordelen: "Nothing - I arrived eventually."
Nadelen: "Undue stress, over booked flight, lost luggage. Zero customer service. Will never fly BA again."

Voordelen: "easy boarding, land at T5 which is a very well designed terminal"
Nadelen: "check is was horrendous. Long queues of people, long wait and not enough people to man the check in counters. Sitting down in my seat my kneeds immediately banged on the seat in front of me. Its clear that this aircraft has less leg space that then usual. And now you have to pay for all food and drink. £9 for a sandwich and G&T."

Voordelen: "Courteous cabin crew"
Nadelen: "Delays both before takeoff and after landing. Unorganized boarding--what happened to the old idea of boarding from the back of the aircraft forward?? Making all passengers shuffle through a long queue is really stupid."

Voordelen: "Quick and a clean aircraft"
Nadelen: "Nothing special to say"

Voordelen: "British Airways code share is always nice"
Nadelen: "Older 747 not quite as nice as the Dreamliner but it made it!"

Nadelen: "We were told not to worry when there was no plane at the gate when we arrived. Then we were told not to worry that the plane was being towed to the gate when it did land in Schipol. They were aware that many on the plane were trying to make a fairly quick connection in London. And it was after that connection would have already been missed that they let us know that our flight was canceled and we would have to go back to get our luggage and get re-assigned to another plane. We stood for TWO HOURS to be reassigned with only 2 agents helping a whole plane full of people. Of course, we missed the last flight out that could have connected us. We were told to go to an agent when we got to London to get a hotel room and they would have us all sorted. They did not have us all sorted and that took another half hour. We were at the airport in Schipol for SEVEN hours [and two trips through passport control] before our rescheduled flight to London boarded. When we landed in London, we had to go to the arrivals desk for them to be informed that we needed a hotel. We were able to sleep about 3 hours and had to get back to the airport for an early morning flight. Everyone we dealt with was kind and respectful, but the Airline itself was ill-prepared to handle this cancellation. In addition, they said they would not re-book at the gate, but those who were angry and aggressive were able to do so and get out on the day we were supposed to. Pretty crummy end to a trip."
