We sat on the plane, by the gate, while the crew called the Istanbul Flight Control to figure out when our plane could arrive. This flight had been scheduled for weeks; I would think they could plan the arrival time to be the ACTUAL arrival time."

On Schipol airport there is screens everywhere and they do not bother to update the status of boarding. Instead, they behave like everything is normal you are the person making the problem."

Then we had to all get off the plane with all of our luggage and wait on a hot bus until we could get back on the flight. It wasn't explained what was going on or why we had to do that and it made me late for appointments I had back in New York."

We spent hours on the phone at great cost to us (international pay phone charges) to be bounced for one rep to another. We were finally told we could get in a plane home Sunday, please to be transferred, starting the process over from the beginning. It was TERRIBLE, beginning to end!"

Nadelen: "I had 15 hours layover in Amsterdam so I got me a hotel.one hour after I got to the hotel I got a notification from Kayak app asking me to go get my bag from Schiphol. My bag was supposed to be directly shipped to PDX. I had to leave my hotel back to the airport and spend 2 hours trying to find it only to be told that it was going to PDX. I lost my $170 hotel room, over $70 for taxis and ended up spending the night on the floor at Schipol. I do not think I'll ever use Kayak again. The travel guarantee is a joke too."

Die meneer geeft aan: stop uw koffer in automaat. Die accepteert niet. Had die meneer ook gelijk kunnen zeggen. Volgende loket. Die mevrouw geeft groen Delta label: uw bagage wordt in Atlanta direct doorgezonden naar Kingston. Ik loop dus door in Atlanta. Maar behulpvaardige meneer melde: uw bagage wordt niet doorgezonden. Nooit uit Amsterdam. Wie moet ik dan geloven? Ik toch maar wachten. Blijkt koffer toch van bagage band in Atlanta te komen. Als ik op Delta/KLM info had vertrouwd, was mijn koffer dus pleite geweest, want niet doorgezonden. Geplande tussenstop duur van 2 uur was volgens douane te weinig. Dat klopte. Haalde maar net vlucht Atlanta/Kingston."

Nadelen: "We were arbitrarily re-seated due to equipment changes, back and forth and lost our original seat selection even though we wound up on a plane with the original configuration. An international call wait of 1.5 hours was required to just get us back into the economy plus section that we had originally paid for, Amsterdam check-in was chaotic. In-plane staff was not at all helpful with our desire to get seats on the outside rows of our section."

Voordelen: "Food was best in a long time. Steak salad was excellent, as was the little chocolate mousse."

Nadelen: "The lines at TSA! Alng with hundreds of other people, we missed our connecting flight. I was ashamed to see such an awful mess in the US. It was like entering a third world country run by incompetents."

Voordelen: "We got almost an absurd amount of food and drink on the flight, which was great. A meal, two snacks, a bottle of water, and several passes of the drink cart. The flight staff were all great, the entertainment options were plentiful. Really just a great flight."
Nadelen: "The Amsterdam airport was ludicrous. We were making a connection and had to go through four different levels of security. Our 1hr45minute layover was completely taken up just waiting in random lines to have someone look at our passports, or ask us to pull up our full flight itinerary email (teh boarding pass was not enough for her....). I appreciate the security attempts but it was really over the top, and the staff had no idea what they were doing (were bad at directing people to the right place or explaining what they needed). Note that NONE of this was the fault of Delta or KLM, completely teh airport."

Voordelen: "Chicken kale salad was inedible. I did not know chicken had gristle!"

Nadelen: "This flight was on a Transavia codeshare with Delta and a real downer after coming from a Delta One business class segment. An uncontrolled mass boarding, crammed in seating, no amenities and charges for a drink of water made this a pretty crappy flight. The crew was nice though."

Voordelen: "Helpful crew, more food than usual, entertainment system and choices."
Nadelen: "Didn't get meal request even though we did on flight to Europe and despite phone agent working to generate and verifying them before both flights."

Voordelen: "When I finally got on a flight (see what I didn't like), the crew was very helpful and the flight was comfortable."
Nadelen: "When I checked in online, I received boarding passes for the first two legs of the trip, but was told to see a gate agent in Amsterdam for the boarding pass for that flight. It turns out that there was a problem, attributed by one of the KLM staff that I talked with to "a communication problem between Delta and KLM." As a result, I was finally given a stand-by boarding pass. Since the flight was full, I was denied boarding. After hours of trying to figure this out, the KLM staff put me on a flight for the next day and organized a stay at an airport hotel. The KLM staff were very nice, but it seemed to take a very long time to figure this out. They also failed to note that the denial of boarding in the records, which caused a problem in my return flight. The upshot: I missed a follow-on flight to Budapest and had to pay a huge rebooking fee for that missed flight. I also missed a day of my vacation."

Nadelen: "As usual, a small space on a full flight. Pretty uncomfortable."

Voordelen: "Lots of seat space even in economy, I felt very comfortable and not cramped on my flight. Food was decent and flight attendants were very attentive. My flight was kind of an outlier experience as someone on my flight fell very ill and needed immediate medical attention. The KLM employees on board did a very good job of taking care of the situation and making sure everyone else on board still had a calm flight experience."
Nadelen: "My connecting flight was scheduled too close to my landing time."

Voordelen: "I was upgraded to business class since my flight was overbooked and I had to miss my original flight"
Nadelen: "Security for traveling to US is a very time consuming with long lines and in my mind useless process which does not make me feel any more secure - just wasting time and resources."

Voordelen: "Delta fed us so well. They made sure we were as comfortable as possible. The flight attendants were nothing short of kind and always smiling. Even the pilot was very ethusiastic over the intercom before the flight. He made jokes and everyone laughed. In fact, it was the most I've ever heard from a pilot on any flight in my life. I would rate this the best flight I've ever had. Thanks, Delta!"

Nadelen: "We booked our plane reservations through Kayak . My sister booked my reservation along with hers at the same time. Kayak put us on different planes at different times on our return flight back to the USA. I had assumed we were flying together ( sisters with the same last names), so I showed up at the airport to find out that I had missed my first flight. I already had a boarding pass for the next flight, but Kayak had canceled me and booked someone else in my seat. No more seats in economy and I had to pay $1750. Euros for another ticket. Why would 2 passengers flying together and booking together be put on different planes and different times. We will NEVER use Kayak again!7"

Voordelen: "The premium economy clas was wonderful. All of the amenities, comfort, room made a long trip far more enjoyable. The crew was right there to help me get to the next gate."
Nadelen: "Frankfurt airport is dreadful. I'm elderly and being forced to climb up and down stairs to the Tarmac with luggage and then crammed into a bus to the terminal was terrible. I would avoid Frankfurt at all costs. Lufthansa needs to take some initiative with this."

Voordelen: "The service couldn’t have been better! Constant supply of water, the food was good, and they have champagne in economy - always a win for me!"

Nadelen: "1 person working the service desk. I had a question about our connecting flight from Frankfurt and I was told to call the 1-800 number. When I went to check my bag the woman was very rude and asked me "why do I think I can check two bags?" and questioned my Star Alliance premium silver status, demanding I show her my card (I have no card). My friend was flying with me and she was told that her carry on, mind you had flown to and within europe, was too big for the overhead storage and she had to pay 90 euros to check it and the woman held her boarding pass and wouldn't give it to her. we waited in line at the service desk for over 40 minutes so that she could pay. We arrived to the airport 2.5 hours early to eat and shop for souvenirs. We barely made it in time to get to our gate because of the inefficiencies of Lufthansa. 1 person working a service desk for a large airport is unacceptable, especially when they are 8-10 waiting to scan your baggage and not helping out at all. I had a wonderful flight to Europe on Lufthansa and was absolutely appalled at the attitudes of the airport staff and their lack of customer service."

Nadelen: "We were detained at the airport after boarding and then deboarding without information. The entire flight was locked in a room and not allowed to leave with very little explanation as to why. After 5 hours they let us board another plane. There was water and candy supplied as food. It was a joke for anyone with kids or the elderly. Nevermind anyone with health concerns. BAD way to manage a crisis in my opinion. We were treated like cattle. And these were NOT cheap tickets."

Voordelen: "That was the best airline meal I've ever eaten. It was a lightly curried chicken. Outstanding. Extremely fast boarding. Boarded entire airplane in less than 15 minutes. Nice selection of movies and audio. All of which you could stop, pause, fast forward, and rewind."
Nadelen: "No reading lights. No attendant call button I could find. Not much air volume. That pesky lack of leg room. Short seat belts."

Voordelen: "Crew was beyond standard. Very nice and friendly and always accommodating."
Nadelen: "They ran out of vegetarian meals."

Nadelen: "My ticket didn't specifically say I'm not allowed to have check-in luggage, so I needed to pay extra for that. I also got too little transfer time and barely made it because my flight arrived late. Then, my luggage got lost during the transfer, so I had to wait for 5 hours, which made my plans a mess. Overall not satisfied with my flight"

Voordelen: "Seats comfortable. Decent legroom. Crew pleasant. Food was very good especially for a very short flight."
Nadelen: "I did not know I had purchased economy light ticket. With this you can only carry on 18 pounds and must check and PAY to check any other bag. I looked at my reservation from Vaysms and did not see notice of this. Surprised that one hour trip at this price , well over $200, was in this category. Also trying to buy the option for the bag on phone was difficult. Whole page with options would not show and getting English version was difficult probably because page would not fit on screen."

Voordelen: "Our flight out of Amsterdam was roughly 30 minutes late. Since we were connecting to an International flight to return to the US there was no possibility we would be able to get to the International terminal through security and board our flight in the time available. So, Lufthansa staff met the connecting passengers as we disembarked, shuttled us via bus to the International terminal and ensured we made our connection. Finally, for airline food it was quite good (Vegan)."

Voordelen: "The price was good."
Nadelen: "This was NOT a Lufthansa flight. The plane was a United flight. One of the worst I have experienced in 40 years of flying to Europe and Hawaii."

Voordelen: "Upgrade to business class. Staff was accommodating"

Nadelen: "Besides the seat relative comfort, it did not recline much at all, i wondered what the extra money (at least $5 or $600) got us. The food, wine/ beer service was same as regular economy, the boarding took place at same time as economy, no drink before take-off if only sparkling water. And the plane was old generation 747 and the entertainment was same vintage: screen was not very bright and the selection of films was poor. No plug to charge electronics. We were disappointed with KLM when comparing with other airline companies offerings when you book in Premium Economy."

Voordelen: "Last year I flew Lufthansa which was my worst experience flying ever. I thought the new standard was so low I would never fly to Europe again. I had heard KLM was good but I felt this was as good as could be expected actually much better. The food was even good."

Voordelen: "The crew was fantastic! Our needs were constantly being met and just about the time you thought you might want a snack or a meal, the attendants were already heading down the aisle. Because of an allergic reaction, I asked for ice a number of times and the attendants were more than happy to meet my needs."
Nadelen: "The seats were very close together. The trip from New York to Amsterdam seemed a lot more comfortable than the return flight. The food from NYC JFK was better than the food from Amsterdam. The movie selection on both flights was a little disappointing."

Nadelen: "Flew KLM 27 years ago and the airlines seem to be stuck in the same era. Food is poor quality... Have you recently checked the Gulf carriers."

Nadelen: "The boarding area was total chaos. In order to get to the gate I had to literally fight with the 100s of people who were waiting in the same area. No priority was given to family with children or elite members. Even when we complaint at the personnel we were told that “it was busy”. Usually KLM flight from Venice depart from the first floor where gates are bigger and you get straight with the finger to the airplane. Today it hasn’t been the case .... too poor service for a KLM fight"

Nadelen: "Delay can occur sometimes but it wiuld be better to be explained its reason and the estimated time for boarding. The customer service at CDG airport was the worst ever and all people standing boarding desk were useless without any mind what they are doing."

Nadelen: "The streaming service didn’t work"

Voordelen: "The crew came to get me from the arrival gate to get to the departure gate since our plane was delayed. It helped to know that the airline was checking to make sure we made the flight."
Nadelen: "I did not get my luggage in Nairobi. The delayed flight that was the most likely reason it did not get to the connecting flight to Nairobi."

Voordelen: "Excellent experience with the cabin crew."
Nadelen: "Seats on the 777 were too narrow. This 777 had a 3-4-3 seating arraignment, it would have been better with a 3-3-3, similar to a 787 configuration. With the current layout, even with an aisle seat, I was sitting in the aisle. And I am not a large person! The flight was full, so use the 787 and two daily non-stops. For a twelve hour flight, the food was only Okay, could have been better and with a better selection. Meal timing was poor."

Nadelen: "Flight was delayed"

Voordelen: "It was a decent train ride."
Nadelen: "Stating it’s a train from the beginning and not having to go from one train station to another."

Nadelen: "Entertainment system was not working on all seats"

Nadelen: "Comfort plus seats need some work. Very thin padding on a hard seat. The leg rest needs to come up higher so you don’t slide down while semi reclined. Nice compromise between business and coach though."

Voordelen: "Good selection of movies."
Nadelen: "Had to use a shoe horn to get into and out of my seat and I'm not a large guy. But really my harsh criticism comes from the loss of my girlfriends luggage. It was left behind in Paris on our way to Casablanca causing us to waste a day in Casablanca traveling back to the airport the grab the bag the next day. And to add injury to insult her bag was left behind in JFK during our transfer for our flight to Seattle. No big deal right, Delta will deliver the bag to our house the next day, wrong, we were told we have to go to the airport ourselves to get the bag."

Voordelen: "Exit row seat had much more space for legs, very much worth the upcharge for this seat."
Nadelen: "Cabin temperature was very cool for me. Never used a blanket on an international flight before, and used a blanke on this whole 9 hour flight. Maybe a function of the seat location? Not sure but I was cold."

Voordelen: "Entertainment system"
Nadelen: "Awoke to find ill man laying on floor in aisle next to me with oxygen. Shortly after... Passenger in seat near man on floor (diabetic but no one tells us anything) needs to lay across four seats with oxygen for heart issues for remainder of trip with staff and doctor on board nearby. Nevdr informed what was happening, never offered to move our seats or move iIl passengers. Glad all turned out ok. Could have given them more privacy and better informed other passengers."

Nadelen: "First class bathroom could have been cleaner and wider - very narrow, hard to maneuver"

Voordelen: "The Delta flight service was much better than the Air France flight I took on the previous leg."

Voordelen: "Crew was attentive. Timings were spot on."
Nadelen: "Virtually no information at boarding which made everybody just make a huge line. Boarding they a bus, it was raining and we got wet."

Voordelen: "Check in agent extremely helpful and friendly."
Nadelen: "Not boarding on tarmac via bus. Sandwich - tartar sauce and “chicken” - with two quarter sized pieces of meat was terrible."

Nadelen: "They made me check my carryon rolly which is allowed on every other plane in the world, which meant going all the way back into a chaos of hundreds of people to check in. Because I had a connecting flight to New York in London, the check in caused many problems...and everything inside soaking wet"

Voordelen: "The crew did its best to make up for the fact that the special meal I ordered was inedible."

I asked, online, twice, if we could have a couple of extra kg for hand pieces. Rec’d only auto. luggage policy. Forced to check both bags."

Nadelen: "The flight was a chartered flight . Air France informed us that due to cabin crew shortage they couldn't operate an air france flight and hence they hired Air Belgium. Whilst the crew were nice , the actual plane was old and creaky. It wasn't up to the standards expected of Air France. They could have done better in getting a plane up to standard. A lot of the passengers were disappointed ."

Nadelen: "Plane was canceled at the last minute with a transfer desk literally assaulted by 100s of people. Only 3 persons on the desk. No lane for sky priority. Queued for nearly two hours before some airport employee gave us instructions to travel by train without any other information or tickets etc. Had to buy my ticket. Couldn’t recuperate my suitcase. Had to wait for it the next day for three hours. Up to this hour I don’t know how I am going to be reimbursed (train and plane)."

Voordelen: "Very poor sound quality on the earphones. Made it very difficult to watch a movie and almost impossible to listen to music."

Voordelen: "Premium Economy on AF Boeing 777 on this route is not "a little less than Business", but rather "a little more than Economy". Seats, in a 2-4-2 configuration, are hard but OK, as well as the pitch. Good screens and entertainment."
Nadelen: "With the main meal, AF serves only "ordinary wine", This looks and tastes cheap. On the same route and class, Vietnam Airlines serves premium wines, a nice touch that would not cost fortunes to AF! Also, the "Asian" choice for the main course did not look and taste like the real thing."

Waarom zijn prijzen niet 100% van de tijd accuraat?
Prijzen voor zitplaatsen in het vliegtuig, hotelkamers en huurauto's kunnen frequent wijzigen. Meerdere personen kunnen ook op hetzelfde moment een zelfde reisoptie proberen aan te schaffen. Dit heeft als gevolg dat het soms voorkomt dat bepaalde prijzen niet langer meer beschikbaar zijn.
