I merely asked them to call Turkish Airlines, and they said they didn’t have the number. I begged both of them to call someone to help me, and they just laughed and said it wasn’t part of their job. I was horrified! I almost missed my plane.!"

I spent another 25 minutes running around the airport trying to find someone to assist including a ticket agent to adjust my flight. Only to be told I couldn't get a flight out until the next day and I had to pay more for my original ticket for it. I contacted customer service and their response was a simple copy and paste of the rules which I was well aware of (apparently I should have really been there 90 mins before and not 60 according to the site). I only booked with the airline because it offered an 8 hour layover in Athens...a chance to see a bonus city. There are plenty of other airlines with more flexible and consistent policies. I have traveled the world on many airlines and have never had an early check in counter close or to have to chase down a representative to get service."

The entire plane from front to back had a terrible smell, as if the sewage pipe had burst and liquid/waste flowed everywhere. The smell may or may not have anything to do with the maintenance crew on board and delayed our boarding. No explanation of the smell. Good thing it was a short flight from Athens to Naples"

At the airport we were told to go the Aegean desk. 5. At the Aegean desk we were told we had to pay for the suitcase again, had to cross the airport to do that. 6. Finally found that desk, not called "Aegean" like we were told, but "GlobeGround" 7. Plane was delayed. 8. At the a Athens airport we were told Taron shouldn't have charged us. What's going on here?"

Voordelen: "My checked in bag did not arrive to HEL... Nedless to say I did check the bag tag was properly labeled RIX to HEL... oh well ... bad score for Baltic Air ... truly hope to see my bag in CGK when I arrived. Qatar airways pls come to the rescue."
Nadelen: "airBaltic has a terrible luggage policy for musicians. They make you pay extra if you want to bring a musical instrument on board, even a violin which fits easily into the overhead bin. It is honestly discriminatory. Will not be flying with them again."

Nadelen: "super small plane... had to climb a very narrow staircase into the plane... overhead bins couldn't accommodate much of anything... we weren't warned this in advance. one rude steward (Miks) July 21 Flt. BT444, 18:30-19:50... he just stood there watching me struggle up the outside staircase into the plane with my suitcase... scolded me for bringing suitcase on board, argued with me, etc. (I've traveled the world and this suitcase is always brought on board)... he was not service-oriented or helpful. thankfully, other staff did help... but he left a bad taste in my mouth for this airline."
Nadelen: "Abigail in MLA (Luqa Intl Malta), one of the sassiest and unhelpful agents I have met. Ask for payment for baggage, does something with my credit card- then tells me I need to go to another desk to pay. So inefficient. This on top of her and her gate buddy screwing around at the desk throwing things at each other. Professionalism is not here. To top it off, the plane sat on the tarmac for 40 minutes and we just about missed our connection. Dirty plane too, gum stains on carpet and dirty seats. Will not fly with these clowns again."

Nadelen: "They charged me 35 dollars to check in and the reason I did not check in was because their other flight was running late and was not sure I will make to that flight. It took forever to get bags in Riga. In the empty flight the way they were seating people was crazy. I'm lifetime gold with American Airlines so I do fair share flying and can tell you it's not a good Airline."

Nadelen: "I pre-paid two checked bags (one each for my husband and myself). At check in we were told I had not done this and we had to go pay at another desk in the airport and come back to the check in line, 40 euros each. I showed the agent my paperwork that showed one bag each--it was not explicit on the paper whether this was the allowance or what I had paid--and she shrugged and said "Bad information. You have to pay now and you can take it up with the airline later." This will be a pain in the neck."

We were told we could check in online but we only had 4 minute in which to do it. We were charged €150 for 5 people. The check in Sgent was sour faced as well. Once aboard the plane (a nice new aircraft) we found the stewardesses sour faced as well. Overall not impressed by air Baltic!"

Nadelen: "on the website i ordered and payed for a meal, and automatically it went to the last and the shortest leg of the flight. it did not ask which leg i was interested in. so i phoned their customer service to get this fixed, they said they cannot fix it and closed the phone on me. on the website is said that from israel you cannot do advance internet checkin, and when i arrived at the checkin they said that i should have done this advanced check in, and since i didn't i need to go to their ticket office and pay a penalty of 35$ per passenger. there also was no warning on the website of any such penalty. i will never fly with them again if i can help it."

Nadelen: "The seats are worn and creek with every movement. There is very limited leg room even for someone who is short. When the person in front of you leans back it is impossible to reach your hand baggage or do anything but lay back in your seat. The landing was safe but not at all comfortable."

Nadelen: "This airline company looks a like person who is begging for money. First time in my life I paid for the luggage. 40 Euros!!! what for? Apparently Air Baltic has no clue about how to run a service business. Somebody has to teach them this naked reality: IN SERVICE BUSINESS YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE YOUR MAJOR MARKETING ASSETS! They don't even serve a glass of water, apparently they could not manage to integrate it in the ticket price. But they dare to get thirsty and unhappy customers on the plane. Anyways: This airline company is charging extra for luggage. And I could not see this anywhere when I was buying ticket online. If I knew I'd never buy the ticket from Airbaltic. "Not writing it clearly and visible at the time of ticket purchase" is certainly tricking and misleading us. This is a crime!"

Nadelen: "No fee food or beverages at all. Attendants were very pleasant. Since this is an economy airline there reallly is no complaint. Our flight was full and boarding went smoothly."

Nadelen: "The scanners did not accept my boarding pass. 40% of the passengers had to have boarding passes reprinted. It was chaotic."
Voordelen: "Quick boarding once the plane finally arrived. Planes are new."
Nadelen: "Flight was delayed approximately 45 minutes as a result of late arrival of aircraft - surprising since it was a morning flight.. I am 6ft2, leg room is VERY tight. I slept most of the flight so cannot speak to food or entertainment. Watch out for the fees! 5 euro per leg for a seat assignment 60 euro to check bags."
Nadelen: "For people who have Airbaltic as a connecting flight this might be very inconvenient. We paid 40 Eur/person each way for our luggage . That brings the price that you pay so much higher than you expect at first. Also if you don't print boarding pass ahead of time which we didn't (plus still needed to drop off checked luggage and check our passports) they want to charge you 30 Eur a person to print that drinking piece of paper. If you don't want to pay that get out of the line with all of you luggage, go to kiosk and print it, then come back to the line. But that's companies rules , employees just have to follow it. Another problem was their attitude. The guy who got our luggage was so weird. Showing off and talking to us like a boss. After giving us boarding passes he said we can go to the screen and look up the gate ourselves. I never write long reviews but man! they got me mad that day. Never say never - but I don't want to fly with this airline again"

Nadelen: "No free food or drink of any kind. That would have been okay since prices were reasonable. However, they completely skipped my row on my side of the plane, and I had to use the call button to get service."

Nadelen: "Checked in luggage is only 20kg, there's no entertainment in flight."
Nadelen: "I tried to check in on my phone and the app did not allow me. The only way was buying lunch in order to move on with the check in process. I decided to get to the counter and the person charged me US$ 35 euros only for checking me in (even though their app had problems to check in). They charged me in total US$ 100 for checking in and checking my luggage. The service was terrible, especially from the person at the counter. In addition to all that, my luggage did not arrive to the final destination and was lost for an entire week. Every time I called the airline, they were charging me per minute even though they were the ones who lost my suitcase."
Voordelen: "The flights were on time, and the Riga airport was efficient."
Nadelen: "The planes seemed very old and rickety. One was an old propeller plane that looked like it had a large patch. The second plane was so old that It was very difficult to open the overhead storage compartments. Both planes rocked side to side during takeoff and landing. I couldn't figure out how to check baggage online through Kayak, and it cost €40 at the airport. It got me where I needs to go, but with the baggage fees, it turned out to be about the same price as other airlines, and I wouldn't recommend the planes for people with any flying anxiety."

Nadelen: "Frankfurt is a terrible airport to fly through, based on my last two experiences. This time the security was better but still very slow compared to other airports I use routinely. I could have easily missed the connection if I had not left the business lounge early to go to the boarding gate. I try to avoid this airport."
Nadelen: "So many UIA flights are delayed on the same time. I do not know why."
Voordelen: "Pleassant flight,professionally service. Thanks...."
Nadelen: "Kayak said there is luggage included however it wasn't included only in one way! In this case the icon should say there is NO luggage and the customer will look into it. In TLV they told me my bag is small enough to take in the plane but then in the connection all of the sudden they said I have to pay 60 euro for it!! Take responsibility for decisions your company took! You are embarrassing yourself and most important- your customers. The behavior of the staff was also ugly, disrespectful, meant to put you under pressure to pay instead of trying to help and understand."
Voordelen: "You pay for everything $15 for boarding $55 each bag - absolutely NO free bags $3 tea Small seats Couples can’t seat together, not even for extra money"

Nadelen: "There were more delays with this flight as well. I ended up traveling for about 19 hours with all the delays instead of just 11/12 it was exhausting."

Nadelen: "Overall I am disappoint with Ukraine Airlines. I will give you several reasons. First of all I'm a frequent traveller of Ukraine Airlines because I had a business in Ukraine. I have use your Airlines more than 10 times. I fly internationally frequently and I also use several other International Airlines. Compared to the Airlines I would rank Ukraine Airlines at the bottom. 1) I have never been on one Ukraine airlines that has the ability for a passenger to charge a cellphone or any other electronic device in the seating area oh the plane. Ukraine Airlines might be the only International Airline that does not have this. How can you not have this option for passengers in 2018 when you know people are using laptops and cell phones more than ever? This is unacceptable. 2) there are no television options on the headrest for passengers. Again, I do not know of any other International Airline that is not allow each passenger the ability to watch movies in front of their seats. The movie option for Ukraine Airlines is extremely outdated. 3) when taking the international flight from New York to Kiev, the food option is not good. It is only one Hot meal served. To give passengers a cold sandwich as a first option on an 8hr international flight is acceptable. It appears to me that Ukraine Airlines is 10 or 15 years outdated. I travel to Ukraine often and I do as much as I can to avoid your airline. Also whenever I'm talking to passengers in other airports and even passengers boarding Airlines we all talk the same about your airline. Most people are disappointed with your Airlines but have to use it because scheduling etc."

Nadelen: "That the airline flew all the way to Chernovtsy, then turned around and returned to KBP. On a 1 hour 15 minute flight, they didn't know that conditions at Chernovtsy were too bad to take off ? Really? How stupid! So, they got back to KBP at midnight, took 2 hours to get me in a hotel. I was wheel chair assisted. Everything was o.k. in hotel, but only stayed 5 hours. In Chernovtsy there was inadequate care for handicapped. Had to wait for wheel chair."

Nadelen: "When I bought the tickets, there was a written disclosure that additional baggage fees might apply. They provided a link to the airline site that listed baggage fees and the first bag (up to 50 lbs) will be free for the economy class ticket. However, at the check in I was told that I have to pay extra for each piece of luggage ($50). It wouldn't be a problem had I known that from the beginning. KAYAK let me believe that I'm buying a regular fare ticket and would be allowed a first piece of luggage for free."
Nadelen: "One hour delay without notice. Had a connecting flight which I could have missed."
Voordelen: "I liked nothing. The flight was 30 minutes late and I missed the flight to Sofia. Then the nightmare began."
Nadelen: "I didnt like anything. The first flight was delayed and I missed the flight to Sofia. Then I was not allowed to board on Austrian Airlines because I had no luggage - which was operated by the delayed flight. Terrible experience."
Nadelen: "Flight got rescheduled and departed 7 hours earlier , and I didn't make my connection, heads up was only 3 hours before the flight, and the airline customer service didn't even offer any help or solutions, I was supposed to spend whole day in NYC and missed my train i bought tickets for in europe. Would be great to have a complimentry flight due to all the inconveniences."
Voordelen: "In business class there was excellent choice of food and beverages. Excellent meal presentation. Flight attendants were nice, very attentive and thoughtful."
Nadelen: "Outdated business class seats that do not recline to become flat and do not provide good rest. I had to put my bag and folded blanket under my feet to keep feet elevated above floor."

Voordelen: "Not sure why other reviews so negative? This was nice, well-managed, on time flight on modern (new?) Boeing 737-800, despite being completely full. Good, professional crew, cabin service. Friendly/multilingual."
Nadelen: "Minor point prior to flight: Initially got conflicting information/direction from UIA airport staff about where to check in. Lost time but eventually ok, helped me get checked/boarded in timely manner."
Nadelen: "The kosher food was not hot & old but that can be do to the Passover holiday so I will see on the way back & then response."

Nadelen: "Food according to my diet was not accommodated, no wifi, no entertainment."

Voordelen: "There seemed to be more leg room in the economy class than usual."

Voordelen: "The flights left on time. Connection via Kiev was comfortable as it was in the same terminal, and was a relatively short walk. KLM code shares with UIA so that says alot. Stewards were nice."
Nadelen: "The seats on most planes were fine. On one of them, they were a bit shallow and we slid off them. Not terrible."
Nadelen: "The UAI crew in Kharkov didn't know how to check me in. They didn't understand the inputs they needed in their Computer for my KLM/ Ukrainian Airline itinerary. It was horrible. After more than 1,5 hours they were able to give me one boarding pass to Kiev. And in Kiev the nightmare was even worse. I spent each minute of my layover time to run around begging for help. Nobody had a clue and was interested to help me. I needed to get mad and curse in order to be sent to the desk #1 with their technical expert. After another excruciating 20 minutes with absolutely unacceptable customer interaction I was handed the two boarding passes to Amsterdam and Detroit. 0 points in customer service. At times I thought I'll have an heart attack. Lousy as hell. Obviously the so called partnership of KLM and UAI is not a good idea, because this piss-poor experience is falling directly back on KLM (and in my case Delta Airlines, of which I am still a fan). KLM should either dump them of educate them and make them follow their standards."
Nadelen: "They don't have personal tv monitor and they are playing some 15+ years old movies. They don't have new plane and the seats are some broken. One of the worst airlines ever."
Voordelen: "Staff was helpful and friendly (though were not updating anyone on the reasons for delay and how much time lef to wait.)"
Nadelen: "No pillows, no blankets, no entertainment, flight delays, no food though it was not a low-cost flight, no information about what is going on with the delays."

Voordelen: "The airplane seats were much more roomy and comfortable as well as soft. The plane was not too fully booked."
Nadelen: "This was the second flight of the evening that was significantly delayed by at least an hour."

Nadelen: "They changed the default of including baggage fee into the ticket price, which was a surprise. In my return flight I had to pay for what I didn't pay when flying "there"."

Nadelen: "Unfortunately our luggage was delayed several days both ways of our trip. When we called the airlines they couldn't give us any information or any help. We just had to give an address and hope for the best. In the meantime we had to buy clothes and toiletries and got zero reimbursement from the company and not even an apology. This is a budget airlines. If you want food you have to buy it. The only thing your given on board is one cup of water for a 3 hour flight. There are no tvs and the legroom is very tight."
Nadelen: "Waited in heat inside airplane for more than hour waiting for exit to take off."
Voordelen: "Unfortunately there was no redeeming quality except it's a budget carrier and the only option between Chisinau and Kiev"
Nadelen: "The staff at Moldova airport checking in were rude, even surly. They double booked many seats on the plane including mine causing chaos at boarding , they charged for baggage even though cost of luggage was included at the time of fare purchase. Altogether one of the worst flying experiences I've ever had."

Voordelen: "The flights where on time, and there were not issues between transfers. They provided 2 meals on out 9+ hour flight that were unexpected as everything I read indicated that there would be no on flight meals provided, so that was nice. There was always one little thing in the meal that was a bit weird, but overall the meals were rather good. And once they put on the movies, they kept them coming, which really helped the time pass on such a long flight."
Nadelen: "It might just be a cultural thing, but the crew was less than friendly. They didn't appear to enjoy their job at all and rearly smiled, which I found odd as I took a total of 4 flights and only the male attendants on one flight smiled.... but after seeing the typical cliental they have to deal with I guess I can understand their dislike! (If I had to deal with people allowing their children to run around like animals for 10 hours with not a word against their actions I might be a bit pissed as well!) And with all airline, they shrink the seats to cram as many people on the plane as possible, so the seats were not altogether that comfortable, but again, that's all airlines. Other wise the only technical issue that I wish should have been disclosed is in Venice there is no Counter for Ukraine Air, they use another airline as their counter support so it was a bit confusing and frustrating when they where unable to print both tickets! Had to get in separate line in Kiev to get second boarding pass."

This was a total waste of money as there was only one Peterson dealing with fast track and long queues, this meant that ordinary queue was dealt with faster."

In both of my flights between Istanbul and Amsterdam, the airplane was not cleaned off of the previous flight's trash. When I was seated in my first flight to Amsterdam, my tray had a lot of stains of food and drinks. Not a pleasant sight! In my flight back to Istanbul, I had to travel looking at a former passenger's waste, such as a used napkin tissue, stuck to the handle of the seat, and a chocolate package. I also have to say that the sinks of the bathrooms do not drain properly, so you, actually, cannot leave the place clean for the next person. All in all, this company definitely needs to work on the cleanliness of their aircraft. Thank you!"

It seemed modern and almost like they hired an interior design person for style not function."
