Voordelen: "The food was the best I've had on any airline in recent times. On the first flight it was a croissant and a swiss chocolate, on the second flight it was a hot danish pastry."
Nadelen: "The first flight was late so I was worried I'd miss my connection (however connection was delayed too so I made it). Also, I was asked to check in my bag because "the aircraft was full" however when I got on the plane I noticed it was half-empty and there would have been ample overhead room."

Voordelen: "Short flight, no entertainment. They still offer free snacks on short flights, a plus, but it was an almost frozen cheese sandwich. A Little bag of pretzels would be better. The crew was very friendly."
Nadelen: "Boarding is confusing. Bad lines, unorganized, and people pushing. They should probably come up with a better system."

I was under the assumption the extra charge would give me a seat with only one extra person next to me. On both flights to and from JFK I was seated in a row with 3 seats and not the last row as promised. Just wondering if a refund for the extra charge would be possible."

Nadelen: "I booked my flight via Kayak through Airfare.com. Never again. They are rude and their rebooking policies are absurd. And there are hundreds of complaints online reporting the same thing. Swiss Air should not do business with them and neither should Kayak."

Nadelen: "Their iPhone App (and to a lesser extend the website too) is awfully slow. It takes forever to gather booking info and check in. Sometimes the boarding pass just don't get delivered to my SMS. Small selection of shows on personal screen. ZRH-HKG flights don't even have touch screens, and the UI is very antiquated."

Voordelen: "as I'm pretty sure they were americans... at least some of them. However, I hope they were on the tail end of some million mile juggernaught to explain their rude treatment of the customers."
Nadelen: "Boarding was not done by row and led to delays and discomfort. The crew was rude and not helpful. At one point, a sick passenger was requesting help for what seemed like 25 minutes before they got back to her. The plane was still dirty from the last flight. I'd give Swiss a pass next time...not really a pleasant flight experience over all even if they got us there in the end."

Nadelen: "I was forced to upgrade to first class by Air France stuff in Athens which they Deceive me not telling me that the first class was not for the entire trip to JFK! If I was informed I would not spend the extra money to flight on an economy “seat” which was not comfy seats for the entire trip"

Voordelen: "There was an incredibly large passenger next to me and I was essentially afforded only a quarter of my seat. It is not really fair for anyone to have to sit next to someone taking up twice their seat."

Nadelen: "I almost missed the flight because I didnt hear the announcement for boarding and I was sitting near another gate to charge my phone. Fortunately I heard the final call!!"

Nadelen: "The boarding was the worst I’d ever seen! No structure, only 1 person was taking tickets to board and would stop every third person to go back to the counter and checkndomething, holding up the entire boarding process. We were supposed to start boarding at 8:05, but started at 8:35...."

Voordelen: "Seat was uncomfortable and hard as a rock, confined and tight."

Voordelen: "Boarding was very smooth and the crew were helpful, efficient, and polite. There was a good assortment of entertainment."
Nadelen: "I ordered the beef tenderloin, medium. It came out extremely rare and I had already eaten some by the time I realized; the entire plate was filled with blood. I ended up sick to my stomach for the remainder of the flight. Average height to tall individuals do not fit well laying down in the seats."

Voordelen: "Since I wasn't allowed on the flight because another leg caused us to arrive with only an hour to board, I can't tell you anything that was enjoyable."
Nadelen: "The KLM representative was COMPLETELY unhelpful. She basically told us we were screwed and to go away. We spent hours on the phone at great cost to us (international pay phone charges) to be bounced for one rep to another. We were finally told we could get in a plane home Sunday, please to be transferred, starting the process over from the beginning. It was TERRIBLE, beginning to end!"

Nadelen: "KLM staff at the AMS airport were not helpful. She insisted that our luggage weigh exactly 23kg. At 23.7, she had us go back to take things out with only 45 minutes to boarding. She was rude and unprofessional. Taking off and landing was a little rough. Entertainment on the plane was limited and a little outdated."

Nadelen: "I couldn’t sleep in a chair... wish I could"

Voordelen: "After a delay of over 1 1/2 due to weather, we boarded and then waited for luggage. Then our pilot said our weight was too high so we sat and burned off fuel, which delayed us a half hour."

Voordelen: "Going back home to the US"
Nadelen: "I had 15 hours layover in Amsterdam so I got me a hotel.one hour after I got to the hotel I got a notification from Kayak app asking me to go get my bag from Schiphol. My bag was supposed to be directly shipped to PDX. I had to leave my hotel back to the airport and spend 2 hours trying to find it only to be told that it was going to PDX. I lost my $170 hotel room, over $70 for taxis and ended up spending the night on the floor at Schipol. I do not think I'll ever use Kayak again. The travel guarantee is a joke too."

Voordelen: "I was surprised by the amount of snacks and drinks on such a short flight."

Voordelen: "The flight attendants were all helpful and pleasant. The seats were comfortable. We were provided with plenty of liquids."
Nadelen: "The landing was pretty tough and we took off almost a half hour late."

Nadelen: "The flight was delayed. It took longer than expected due to the hurricane. When we arrived, there was no gate so we had to sit on the runway forever. Then the gate checked bags took forever. I was supposed to have a 1.5 hour layover. I barely made my connection as I only had 20 minutes left until takeoff by the time we got off the plane."

Nadelen: "Big delay because no running water in bathrooms, which caused me to miss 2nd flight. Seating was ridiculously tight. Check in online was problematic."

Nadelen: "Weather delay was a real bummer but I liked the app wanted to help reconnect people with other flights. The app should also tell us the reason for the delay, if allowable, especially if it weather. I almost hoed on another flight through Minneapolis but would have been stuck in Minneapolis cause I didn’t know the delay was due to weather an hour later."

Voordelen: "On time, pleasant and friendly flight attendant, no unexpected issues or problems."
Nadelen: "Grumpy gate attendants at YUL! Could not hear the captain’s comments over the PA system. Shouldn’t the volume be checked every so often? We were offered only water or coffee, bad enough, then there was no milk or cream on board, so water or black coffee... not very impressive! And there was no entertainment so I’d rate that zero but the scale only goes as low as one star."

Voordelen: "I love the overwhelming positivity exuded by the stallions in business class. Sometimes good things happen to mediocre coffee, others not so lucky!"
Nadelen: "The guy next to me looked like Joel Osteen and his daughter was actually Cardi B. I could feel the existential dread coming from their tray tables. Also, Lemon and Caramel cheesecake? What an awful flavor combination."

Nadelen: "A/C was blowing right on our heads. Asked to have the A/C turned down. They said sure. The nothing. Asked again? Nothing. 3rd time, my neighbor and the people in the seat ahead told them that we were ll cold. Nothing! I was sneezing by the time we landed."

Nadelen: "De onbetrouwbare procedures bij KLM en Schiphol. Kan niet online inchecken bij Delta: KLM operated. Alleen op Schiphol. Daar ook niet bij machine. Naar een loket. Die meneer geeft aan: stop uw koffer in automaat. Die accepteert niet. Had die meneer ook gelijk kunnen zeggen. Volgende loket. Die mevrouw geeft groen Delta label: uw bagage wordt in Atlanta direct doorgezonden naar Kingston. Ik loop dus door in Atlanta. Maar behulpvaardige meneer melde: uw bagage wordt niet doorgezonden. Nooit uit Amsterdam. Wie moet ik dan geloven? Ik toch maar wachten. Blijkt koffer toch van bagage band in Atlanta te komen. Als ik op Delta/KLM info had vertrouwd, was mijn koffer dus pleite geweest, want niet doorgezonden. Geplande tussenstop duur van 2 uur was volgens douane te weinig. Dat klopte. Haalde maar net vlucht Atlanta/Kingston."

Voordelen: "Easily the most comfortable I've ever been in TATL economy. Lufthansa's 747-8 is set up strangely: the main deck is arranged First - Business - Economy - Prem. Economy - Economy. This means that if you can book a seat in the forward economy mini-cabin, you get dedicated cabin crew, no other passengers walking through your space to get to the bathroom, plenty of bin space, and – best of all – a lot of aisle space to stretch your legs. Row 16 aisle seats are especially good, as the bulkhead between J and Y doesn't extend all the way, and therefore you can stretch your feet out. Food was actually excellent (for economy), hot and flavorful and generous, with snacks available mid-flight. Beverages also tops – gotta love Lufthansa for offering Campari (!) and more than one wine choice."
Nadelen: "Entertainment (music and movies at least) was up-to-date but not very interested. Boarding and transit security in Frankfurt was anxiety-inducing – between getting to the US departures area and additional screening, it took more than an hour from deplaning to getting in line. Boarding w/o group numbers was an exercise in patience. And the terminal wifi is so spotty!"

Voordelen: "The Lufthansa crew in Munich was very helpful when my boarding pass would not go through - I was not told I needed a new pass for that flight (as the first one had been cancelled and rebooked: 2 Air Berlin flights). No one was of help until this point, and the Lufthansa crew even offered to check on my baggage for us only to notice it never left Berlin; we didn't get it for 3 days. This did not surprise me because last time I flew Air Berlin for an 8 day cycling & camping trip, I didn't see my bike for 5 days (you can imagine this sort of ruins the entire point of the trip). After reading a lot of complaints with Air Berlin and never hearing back from their customer service (ever) after numerous forms filled out, I knew checking our bags with Air Berlin from the start would mean we wouldn't see them in New York. I even said to the Air Berlin employee at check in that I refused to check my bag because of my past experience and he "assured" me my bag would be at JFK when I got there. Ha. It was nice to see the Lufthansa crew shocked at how poorly this trip home was working out for my husband and I."
Nadelen: "After the cancelled flight, we were very disappointed to be rebooked with Air Berlin. We do not want to fly Lufthansa if they are so closely associated with Air Berlin, and will tell our friends the same."

Voordelen: "They had lots of movies and TV options to choose from."
Nadelen: "The vegetarian option was very poor. Frankly a pizza snack in place of supper is not what I expect on a cross-Atlantic flight."

Voordelen: "Crew was beyond standard. Very nice and friendly and always accommodating."
Nadelen: "They ran out of vegetarian meals."

Voordelen: "Did not make the flight."
Nadelen: "I wish there was more of advance notice on this flight, instead it just gave us 23 hour reminder. We had booked this flight a year ago but we could not make this and the 23 hours was too short of a notice."

Voordelen: "The food was nice and the stewardess were professional."
Nadelen: "My ticket didn't specifically say I'm not allowed to have check-in luggage, so I needed to pay extra for that. I also got too little transfer time and barely made it because my flight arrived late. Then, my luggage got lost during the transfer, so I had to wait for 5 hours, which made my plans a mess. Overall not satisfied with my flight"

Voordelen: "Staff attentive. Came by very frequently."

Nadelen: "Tardiness. Food. The entertainment system would default to German language from English. The forward button on movies sometimes did not work."

Voordelen: "The flight was relatively empty, so I got to stretch out across three middle seats and sleep for the entire duration of the flight. The crew did a wonderful job of serving the food and clearing away very quickly. They were very friendly overall."
Nadelen: "The entertainment system wasn't the best I've seen -- but I barely had a chance to use it, so I'm not complaining."

Voordelen: "On-time going over and coming home. Professional crew and service, both on the ground and in the air."

Nadelen: "1. I was not aware or told that in-flight entertainment via Ipad required the united app. So I could not use that. I would appreciate better communication. 2. At one time, a crew member stuck his nose in the coffee pot - I think to smell which pot was coffee versus tea. But heck, who wants coffee after that? 3. The final lunch served was a sandwich that required heating of the sandwich. Served cold it was dry. By the way, the wrapper said the sandwich is oven ready! Good gracious. Follow the directions. 4. The attendant who served dinner came across as rushed. Like he was on a schedule or something. Are you guys timing the attendants? I personally felt he was rushed and cared more about dumping the tray in my lap than about looking me in the face and making human contact. 5. I fly to Amsterdam a lot and prefer the direct flights, ie KLM or United. So far KLM is winning me over in terms of service. I do think though that United can make easy improvements and provide better service. Remember, you are transporting people, not packages. Good luck."

When voluntarily I took of my boots, the guy didn't agree...I understand that Europe was thru a terrorist attack but they should use common sense and not try to humiliate people. Personally, I wouldn't go to Europe if not necessary."

Voordelen: "The crew was fantastic! Our needs were constantly being met and just about the time you thought you might want a snack or a meal, the attendants were already heading down the aisle. Because of an allergic reaction, I asked for ice a number of times and the attendants were more than happy to meet my needs."
Nadelen: "The seats were very close together. The trip from New York to Amsterdam seemed a lot more comfortable than the return flight. The food from NYC JFK was better than the food from Amsterdam. The movie selection on both flights was a little disappointing."

Voordelen: "She was cheerful and genuine. I have dietary restrictions but was unable to preorder a meal. She went out of her way to find an available meal for me. I also saw her bring other passengers extra snacks and drinks."

Voordelen: "Fairly nice flight. 7 hours AMS to JFK. They had ice cream cones for us mid flight and an after dinner cognac if you wished."
Nadelen: "Not a big fan of paying for a few extra inches of leg room in a better seat after paying for a ticket."

Nadelen: "Boarding was very confusing. There was an area where they were checking people's bags or something near the gate and you didn't know if you needed to stop at it or continue. They didn't collect garbage before landing. Not only did we have to take our bags off the plane, we had to carry our garbage (drink cups/food served) to the front of the plane to throw out."

Nadelen: "The boarding area was total chaos. In order to get to the gate I had to literally fight with the 100s of people who were waiting in the same area. No priority was given to family with children or elite members. Even when we complaint at the personnel we were told that “it was busy”. Usually KLM flight from Venice depart from the first floor where gates are bigger and you get straight with the finger to the airplane. Today it hasn’t been the case .... too poor service for a KLM fight"

Nadelen: "Actually the Welcome on board announcement. The part where they special welcome loyalty program members. I do not get that... I am an explorer holder my self, but really?? so other paying customers are not as welcome. This is leftovers from the older days.."

Voordelen: "On both of my flights to New York City, I was amazed at how friendly and helpful the flight attendants were to the passengers. On my short flight from Basel to Amsterdam, a young French speaking girl was concerned about how to manage getting to her next gate. The flight attendants talked to her and arranged for someone to take her there. On my longer flight from Amsterdam to New York City, there was a customer who was in distress about missing a previous flight and not making it to her connecting flight in New York. One of the flight attendants reassured her until she stopped crying and calmed down. That same flight attendant was always so positive and cheerful in all she did. The rest of the crew was top notch. This was my best experience flying in such a long time. Well done, KLM crews of flights 1984 and 0645 on July 10!"

Only had one hour to reach connection. Lost an immense amount of time getting swabbed and patted down. The gate was closed when we arrived. Had to run to the gate. By accident we found out the gate was closed from someone who happened to hear word that we were looking for the gate to JFK. Almost didn’t get on the flight. If we didn’t run who knows if we would have made it. If you are only giving people an hour to get to their connection, then don’t let them get held up for 40 minutes. It’s idiotic."

The flight crew was outstanding- Ashley and Hazel could not have been nicer to us. My TV set was broken in my seat but I did not care as I had a lot of reading to do. It was an outstanding return trip from a wonderful time in Ireland"

Nadelen: "Needed to add my infant son to return leg of flight. He did not need a seat (lap infant) just a ticket. Neither JustFly or Aer Lingus (Dublin) could/would do this. Each said it was the others job. Eventually Aer Lingus office in New York added my son to flight. There seems to be a disconnect / confusion between airline and booking company regarding this matter."

Nadelen: "In Dublin, we were sent to an area for a long wait with no decent food at all, even though the Dublin airport has good restaurants. It probably has to do with U.S. security, but certainly something more accommodating could be worked out. They had an Aer Lingus lounge, but only for business class and gold card holders, so after spending thousands on tickets, we were not allowed in. Guess the "1 percent" privileges."

Voordelen: "It was on time. Going through customs in Dublin. Boarding went smoothly."

Voordelen: "US Customs pre clearance saved us a lot of time at JFK."

Nadelen: "The flight was delayed for an hour and a half causing me to miss my connecting flight back to the US. Because I missed my connecting flight, they had to reroute me through Boston and then to San Francisco. I paid extra for an upgraded seat and they still sat me in a middle seat. To componsate for the 8 and a half hour delay and two brutal flights, they gave me a meal voucher for 8 Euros. I won't be flying Aer Lingus anytime soon. Of the three flights that I had with them this trip, two were severely delayed. I'm exhausted!"

Voordelen: "I like that the flight took off on time and got there a little early. I was so worried about delays. Going and coming back was on time."

I'm 6'4" tall and placing me in a middle seat is almost a crime for me and the people around me. It was almost impossible to get out of the seat to use the restroom or to stretch and it was miserable. I fly all the time on long flights and this is in second place for my worst flight ever!!!Please call Tina at (208) 659-4799 To see the apartment."

Nadelen: "The entertainment service in my seat was not working. I had to ask two different flight attendant in 3 times occasions for help. Finally, one of them told that she could only do something after finishing serving food to the plane (worth mentioning that at this time, she hadn't start serving food). After 3,5 hours (on a 6,5 hour flight) she said that her colleague would re-start the system. After 30 more minutes, and after I went to asked what happened, she said that the system was not functioning and that there was nothing else she could do other than giving me some refreshments."

Nadelen: "Crews are not nice. I requested for blanket and the crew refuse until we get to the air. We waited for a long time before we go the air. Inside the plan was freezing and we end up taxing back to the gate due to a medical reason of a passenger. I asked for hot water and they forgot. I had the assistant light on and waited for 5 minutes before someone came by. For sure I will not travel on Aer Lingus again. I didn't like their food and the movies were old."

Voordelen: "Great price for biz seat with all amenities. I was initially concerned I was going to fly the older A330-300 without the new lie flat seats. But was pleasantly surprised to get one of 2 Capt. Kirk seats in 3K. Similar to JetBlue seats, except JetBlue has a privacy partition that slides close. Food was good, not great, though wine choices were quite nice. Wished they had wider tea selection."
Nadelen: "Service felt rushed in business class, possibly because it's a short flight from DUB to JFK."
