Nadelen:: Bij de badkamers op de benedenverdieping, 102, zeer lelijk afgewerkt met piepschuim hoekjes!! Ook waren er vanaf 7.30 bouwvakkers aan het werk die ons alle dagen wakker maakten. Na klacht hierover kregen we een andere kamer.

Voordelen:: A delightful haven in the heart of the old town - the online pictures do not do it justice.
Nadelen:: The “old town’s” authentic stone paved roads - made from unmatched, uncut stones that are treacherous and uncomfortable to walk on; impossible to wheel a suitcase on; and prohibited to vehicles. You will have to carry your suitcase!

Voordelen:: The property is really beautiful, the bedroom was very comfortable, the hotel is extremely well located. Even though we didn't try the facilities, it is great to have a spa, sauna, pool and gym!
Nadelen:: Breakfast is ok. Very good but nothing special. Our room was on the ground floor and while it was amazing, it can be a bit noisy because the windows are turned to the street. I was told this room will be deactivated, but you have a lighter sleep I would advise to try another room!

Voordelen:: Breakfast was good, but the restaurant per se was terrible. So loud and noisy! Tables too close to each other and people stumbling into each other to get their food. Good rooms and comfortable bed. Very clean.
Nadelen:: Pool is not acclimatized and the water was so cold! Bathroom in the room with the hydro-massage as all glass (transparent) which made me very uncomfortable. Hairdryer is very weak. Bring your own.

Voordelen:: Excellent staff who always go the extra mile. We found the rooms to be very clean and comfortable, and the pool areas were great. Delicious food and the most amazing cocktails we've had- couldn't ask for a better hotel!

Voordelen:: We needed help setting up tours and they were more than happy to help. They even drove us down to the city and picked us up later in the day so that we didn’t have to worry about parking. They were excellent.

Voordelen:: Schone kamer, mooi hotelcomplex, elke dag een appje met de vraag of alles naar wens is.
Nadelen:: Restaurant is nieuw, maar de bediening weet zich geen raad met een groep mensen. Slechts 1 ober kon zich verstaanbaar maken in het Engels, maar hij had het dermate druk dat we veel te lang moesten wachten. Genoeg personeel, maar van efficiënt werken hebben ze nog nooit gehoord (is overigens normaal beeld in Brazilië). Erg jammer want je bent toch snel geneigd om in het restaurant van het hotel te dineren vanwege de afstand (ca. 5 km) naar het centrum van Paraty. De kaart is niet uitgebreid, maar het eten is oké.

Voordelen:: Staff were super friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Roberta at reception was really sweet and helpful as we're staff in the bar, despite our lack of Portuguese. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the facilities were great. The lift in and out of historic centre was really useful and saved us from getting taxi's.
Nadelen:: It was too far from Paraty city. Despite the hotel offering transfer to and from the historic centre at no extra charge, we felt too far from restaurants etc. As it rained for most of our 5 nights and the road leading to the hotel became a muddy bog we felt cut off as it was impossible to walk anywhere. Our room was very noisy. We could hear people in the room next door using the toilet, showering, vomiting! We were woken up 2 mornings at 03.50 by someone's alarm going off! If you want peace and quiet don't stay here. When the hotel is very busy it feels like there are a lot of people in a small area.

Voordelen:: The place is located in a very strategic place for people who go to Paraty by bus, as I did. It is a Walking distance from.tje bus Station, so it helps a lot if you are not carrying many suit cases. We thought about our room and I missed a couple of basic things that I think a hotel should provide such as a cup, napkins and some other things that we saw inte room structure (we told the recepcionist on our check out). Breakfast on the seco d day left a lot to be desired, we chose to have breakfast out of the hotel. There were no plates dishes or cups for coffee. Very croweded and understaffed maybe. Other than that, our stay was very nice! The staff is very friendly !
Nadelen:: Didn t like my room. The window glass was missing (room 114) , the shower knob was falling down everytime you turn it on, it scapes and come off on your hand. The bathroom door knob is the same.

Nadelen:: During the weekend, when the place was full of guests, we couldn't find a place to park the car. However, the crew was very kind and found a solution (holding the keys).

Voordelen:: Good sized villas, nice pool for the kids with a bar for adults. Location is good not great.
Nadelen:: Poor AC, dirtt facilities. There were bugs like ants and others everywhere (many in the room, even on the breakfast table with the food!!). Should do a better work dealing with that. Old facilities, towels must be renovated. Beds and lining soon after. Especially for the price they charge.

Nadelen:: Our bedroom was claustrophobic, we didn't have natural light and we had to keep the lights on whenever we were inside the room. The window in the bedroom faced a wall, the fact that we couldn't see a garden, the sky or anything from the bedroom was really frustrating for a holiday accommodation. The pool area and the garden were really nice but they played loud music all day which made it impossible to relax and enjoy it. I wouldn't go back or recommend the pousada.

Voordelen:: Een verblijf met fantastisch uitzicht, wat we zeker gaan missen. De Engels sprekende host was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Wat ook geldt voor de rest van het personeel. Het goede ontbijt aan de rivier was iedere ochtend een feestje!

Voordelen:: We arrived late at night for check in, there was a very helpful, kind lady who assisted us with no problem. she even ordered dinner for us from another place as there kitchen was already closed. Thank you for the great hospitality the place was a beautiful, home like feel.

Nadelen:: The shower at bathroom is so week. Temperature never stabilizes and there is no water pressure. So dificult to rinse long hair! Even with transfer, the distance to downtown with children is not a good experience.

Voordelen:: The staff were fabulous, they went above and beyond to keep us happy throughout the stay. The hotel was very clean and a special shout out to Tais (I think that's how you spell it) who was the one young female who could speak English and gave us advice whenever we asked and tipped us off on the best pizza and pasta in town! (after a few poor experiences in Rio). The hostel was very flexible and relaxed which we loved, for example giving us impromptu rides to the town off schedule, letting us use the pool passed the closing time and a late check out when we had a late bus. The night worker also let us use the staff microwave late one night! The 7 of us had a fabulous time and we thank you so much pousada eclipse! Xx
Nadelen:: Only negative feedback was that the WiFi was pretty weak and cut out often. I think this may be normal as the area had frequent power cuts (amazing at night to see the stars!) The location is a bit away from the center of Paraty which was saved by the free shuttle offered by the pousada.

Voordelen:: View from the room and general hotel design is nice. Fantastic and helpful staff. Breakfast is varied and tasty. I haven't used the swimming pool but it looked nice.
Nadelen:: Location is great in the region and for accessibility, but a bit far from Paraty center by walk. The hotel has shuttles in place.every hour so it's not really a problem.

Voordelen:: The hotel is super cute and people paid a lot of attention to details. The hotel offers way more than what we expected for the price we paid. They prepare a big breakfast with various options and staff was always very friendly and helpful, rooms are super clean and get cleaned every day. It's a nice place to take some time and explore the beautiful city of Paraty.
Nadelen:: There is not a lot to complain about (especially considering the money we paid). If there is any, I want to complain about than it's the fact that it is not directly located in the old time. However, the city center and old town is within a 5-10 minute walking distance, so not too bad at all.

Voordelen:: Het personeel was super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het hotel lag op een prima locatie ten opzichte van het centrum. Een heerlijk zwembad waar de kinderen 's-avonds nog tot 10 uur in konden ronddrijven. De oud-koloniale stijl van het hotel was erg mooi.
Nadelen:: Het ontbijt viel wat tegen, hadden we misschien wat meer van verwacht. De eerste dag stond er een soort "flan" op tafel, maar die was binnen een 1/2 uur op en werd niet vervangen, hebben we dus niet kunnen proeven. De verse meloenen waren wel heerlijk!

Voordelen:: The facilities are nice - there's a small green area and a pool (more for the looks, water didn't seem very clean).
Nadelen:: The internet connection was bad, we had to go out of the room to catch wifi. The breakfast wasn't very good. The selection was ok but the scrambled eggs were like rubber and cheese didn't seem fresh.

Voordelen:: Spotless clean hotel. The building is situated in a beautiful garden. Staff don’t speak English but are willing to help. Bit outside of the center (20 min walk or free transfer). We were there during the week and the hotel was pretty empty. In the weekend touringbusses arrive so it can be crowded. Would recommend this hotel! Good value for money.
Nadelen:: If you don’t like crowded hotels avoid the weekend.

Voordelen:: Paraty itself is a delight so although the hotel was average, it didn't detract from a wonderful few days. The price was reasonable
Nadelen:: Perhaps it was just that I was there over Christmas so it was extra busy, but breakfasts were always a confusion with plates, cutlery and food running out. Also, it was quite a walk to the historic centre (although there is a shuttle that goes at certain times)

Nadelen:: The cheapest service ever. All the room look like hospital room, it makes you unconfortable. The breakfast is low quality, disgusting. The staff is not competent and not really friendly. The location is far from the center and you have only one transfer for free in the morning, at 9 when everything is closed in the center so you just walk around waiting for everything to open or you have a pay a taxi to go by yourself. There is quite no wifi at all. Only a bit in the lobby in front of the welcome desk. No wifi at all anywhere else and of course not in the rooms...

Voordelen:: The room was spacious and comfortable with amazing views of the canal! The location of the pousada is very central, just a couple of blocks from the historic centre and very safe to walk around. There are many options for food and drinks close to the pousada. The staff was friendly and arranged a taxi for us when we needed it.
Nadelen:: It was a bit difficult to use the cold-hot water mixer in the bathroom but got used to it in the end.

Voordelen:: The hotel has a very relaxing atmosphere and a beautiful rustic decoration. The room assigned to was sparkling clean, very comfortable, cozy, and it had a balcony with an inviting hammock in it. The hotel is located very close to the historic district and by a canal, whose view you can appreciate in the morning at the restaurant. The staff was friendly and the breakfast included a large variety of foods and drinks.
Nadelen:: The only downside for me was that the shower had very little water pressure, so if you have long hair it makes it difficult to wash it thoroughly. Also, although the breakfast included a large variety of goodies, I felt that it was lacking more localy prepared foods such as home made cakes and jellies.

Voordelen:: This is a beautiful Posada, just a short walk from the old historical centre and backing onto the river. There is a nice pool area, the rooms are comfortable and clean and breakfast is substantial.
Nadelen:: The air conditioning unit is really loud, so if you are a light sleeper this may be an issue. An additional bin in the room would be nice, considering the one in the bathroom is to be used for your toilet paper, therefor you want to keep it closed as much as possible. The hot water unit for the shower yields two temperatures's - hot and luke warm.

Voordelen:: Beautiful Hotel, great design, friendly people, central location. Our stay in this Hotel was wonderful. The staff is very friendly and they take care of you. The Hotel is well located - close to shops and restaurants, and also close to the pier where you find all boats taking you to the beautiful islands of Paraty. Although centrally located, in the hotel - especially the beautiful garden with plunge pool - it is very calm amd cozy. The breakfast and the tea time are very nice with good food and fresh products.

Voordelen:: The house is amazing, the pool, the tea hour, the food, the service... I've travelled around the world, including Europe and very "rich" countries, but I never had such a great experience like in Casa Turquesa. I lived in Rio for almost a decade and it wasn't my 1st time in Paraty, so I never thought they could have a place like that in Rio! Highlights to the amazing food they serve, everything is always super fresh; and highlight to all the little details they worry about: organizing/cleaning your bedroom according to the time of day, different souveniers and treats in your bed every day... It was just amazing. Best "fast" honeymoon ever!!!
Nadelen:: Nothing. We had a hard time on deciding what "constructive suggestions" we could give them (like a bigger range of rain boots sizes), but all we could come up with were tiny suggestions that didn't really made our experience be bad because of not having it. The house is perfect, the service is unbelievable good. No need to worry about ANYTHING!

Voordelen:: Great location in a quiet part of Paraty‘s historical center, close to the port, with all attractions at the door step. The owner Teté runs a perfect place, with only nine very individual and nicely decorated rooms. The staff is super friendly, in a very personal way. Guest are made to feel that they are really welcome.

Voordelen:: We had a great time. The room was spacious and clean, the staff very nice and friendly, and the breakfast was good (much better than a lot of other places in South America) with proper yoghurt and freshly made ‘crepiocas’. It is located just a short walk from the bus terminal and also pretty close to the historical center.
Nadelen:: Nothing we didn’t like, would definitely recommend this place

Voordelen:: The hotel is run my a really nice family who were very accommodating when we wanted to drop off our bags much earlier than check in. The room was very spacious and clean, with a large comfortable bed. Breakfast was also great - lots of fresh fruit and bread to choose from and eggs to order! We loved our stay here and would definitley stay again!

Outstanding advice and support from owners and staff, especially Lucas -the resident expert on Paraty - and the young lady in charge of breakfast. Excellent quiet location, close to Jabaquara beach and good beach kiosks.
Nadelen:: We have a preference for a quiet breakfast, rather than be serenaded by live guitar music, no matter how good!

Nadelen:: The room smelled a bit like it had been closed for too long--opening the windows during the first day alleviated the problem. Mattress comfort and quality were not so great, so sleeping wasn't the best experience.

Voordelen:: What is not to like about this facility? The rooms are clean, charming, and comfortable. Especially nice are the large bathrooms with a double shower— one inside and one outside (that is, it is private but the roof is open air). The staff is courteous and helpful in multiple languages. Breakfast is expansive in choices. The location is good in between the historic area and the main city. Few other pousdas are its equal.
Nadelen:: The streets in the historic section are paved with large rocks in an irregular and uneven fashion. If you have problems walking or with balance, Paraty is difficult to navigate. S one woman noted, this not the place to wear high heels. The locals sell shoes made totally from rubber and are a good idea for the rocks and for the rain.

Voordelen:: In our 6 week trip around South America this has been one of the best hotels we have stayed at. From the time we arrived we felt very looked after...the staff spoke English very well and helped us with anything that we needed. Our room was perfect...having all the facilities expected and the bathroom is amazing with two showers (one open and one under cover)! The pool area is definitely the highlight of the hotel...with a little jacuzzi in it...it is the perfect place to relax with a cocktail. There is a bar and couches in the pool area as well. The hotel is very clean and the decor is done so well. If we ever in Paraty again we will definitely be staying here! Highly recommend this hotel.
Nadelen:: There is only two staff (waiters/barmen) that work at any given time, and they take care of anything you need whether at the pool or in the lounge inside. This meant that sometimes it took a bit of time to find one of them to assist us. But that being said, they were always so helpful and attention even when doing anything for us. So more of an observation than a complaint.

Voordelen:: Room was clean. Beds made every day. Excellent cakes for breakfast. Owner very helpful for any questions you have and offered the hotel safe for storing our valuables.
Nadelen:: Facilities felt tired and could do with updating eg. sunloungers were mouldy, shower didn’t work properly. Whilst the property is animal-friendly, some guests had their dog swimming in the pool which was unhygienic so we didn’t use.

Nadelen:: We were rather excited about this "charming" place by the river, but the excitement ended very quickly. The online photos are misleading and deceptive in every way possible. This pousada is in a bad part of town, far from the city center, in an area that I would not walk in at night. We were told to park outside the pousada walls, on a dirt road, and I was left wondering if our car would still be there in the morning. The place was dirty and run down, with no comfortable common area. The bed wasn't even made when we arrived, so we had a chance to see the stained mattress and tattered pillows. We left, foregoing our non-refundable deposit, to find someplace nicer, much closer to the centro, for about the same cost. GO ELSEWHERE!!!
