Villas Flamingo

Het gemeenschappelijke zwembad is lekker van temperatuur en maat. Alle huizen hebben genoeg privé zitruimte buiten, er zijn ook ruim voldoende ligbedjes. Op loopafstand van het huis zit een restaurant en kleine minisuper (chips, drankjes) De keuken is goed uitgerust, je kan er koken. De beheerder zorgt voor een tank drinkbaar water. Het huis wordt, als je wilt, dagelijks schoongemaakt.

Het huis is een klein beetje gedateerd. Een likje verf hier en daar kan geen kwaad.

De blauwe zee was bruin :( . Klimaatsverandering en vervuiling maken dat golf van Mexico hele zomer lang vol wieren zit die de stranden volledig bedekken met metershoge stinkende hopen... Men tracht de stranden vrij te maken maar het is onbegonnen werk... Akumal zelf is gekend voor zeeschildpadden die er eieren komen leggen, maar het is pijnlijk om zien dat de stranden tot ca een meter van de vloedlijn zijn volgebouwd, en die schildpadden dan maar een gaatje moeten vinden tussen strandstoelen en betonnen plateau's... De baai is een soort privé enclave, die zonder enig oog voor milieu is verknoeid in beste jaren '70 stijl...

Great location! We had a lovely stay in Akumal. The apartments are very spacious, quiet, clean and there is a nice swimming pool. The staff was really friendly and helpfull. They did all they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Also a big compliment to the men who clean the beaches. We were able to see the little turtles hatch and make their way to the sea, amazing!

Staff was well prepared for our arrival. Check in only took a few minutes.

Loved everything about the apartment. We stayed in #1 which is more like a private house since it is separated from the other 3 apartments. Location is perfect, right in the middle of Half Moon Bay, right on the beach. The place was spacious and clean thanks to the lovely ladies from housekeeping and Louis the gardener. We loved the pool which we mostly had to ourselves the entire week. We had a private terrace surrounded by a small sandy garden with coconut palms and a lovely view of the beach. We could park the car right in front of our apartment. There are a few good restaurants in the area as well as a small supermarket and it's not far to Akumal town. It's also an ideal area for daytripping. Places like Xelha, Tulum, Dos Ojos, Cobá and Muyil are all very close.
